Jon's 2010 Fit Sport

Figured it was time for me to start posting the little bit of a log of what happens to my car... because apparently stock just wasn't going to work....

Current
Nexus 7 (2013) for head unit running Timur Kernel with stock android 4.4.2
Various parts to get the N7 to play well with the rest of my car
Clarion EQ
Infinity Kappa Five
Morel Tempo 6 components
AudioMobile GTS 2110
Sound deadened front doors
JoyCon XDR
False trunk floor

Planned
Take audio controls off a Honda Civic and fit them to my current stock steering wheel
Deaden other parts of the car as they get taken off for other mods
Little fin antenna cover
Precision Power DSP-88r
Fiberglass sub box built around the spare tire
Window tinting (25 back and 35 front)
Sway bar
Stickier tires
2011+ OEM headlights
Debadge
Seat covers
Floor mats
Possibly interior LEDs
Get the right wiper blade arm to stop vibrating at idle
Decent brake pads
and lastly if they don't come out with a Fit Hybrid for sale in the next couple of years then I will probably break down and get a supercharger. Already tired of not being able to pass v8 trucks on the highway if they try to keep me from passing.

Will post more pictures of the install as I go back in and make it look better. At the moment its functional but pretty is not what I would call it.

False floor install in trunk has started
Will be raising the trunk floor 3 inches with amp mounted on the underside of the floor and eventually a fiberglass box will be made to fit in the tire well while still having the spare accessible. Will wire up a couple of computer case fans to kick on when the amp is on to keep some air moving over it.

Making the template before I throw it on top of the plywood to cut it out.Attachment 15781
GF came over to help me for a bit and first thing she asked is why I didn't just use the OEM cargo tray as the template? I had no response to defend my efforts. Next time I am just using the cargo tray.

False floor has been cut out and a temporary wooden box has been made but family stuff came up so as of this moment projects are on hold... unless you just really want to see a square mdf box in my trunk :p

The sad state of my trunk at the moment. Attachment 15782

Slowly moving forward... for now had to give up on the fiberglass and just stuck the wooden box into the wheel well. Box is cut the the same height as the fiberglass one will be so will be an easy swap when I get around to it. Attachment 15783

Well finished out the trunk till I get enough money to by all the stuff to glass a box.

Amp is mounted to the underside of the false floor. I still need to get some small fans under there to cool the amp. The spare tire is not in the car at the moment and wont be until I can afford the glass. When the seats are laid flat there is a gap between the false floor and the seats. I need to craft up something like the old floor had where the flaps went up when the seats were up but down when down. And craft up a fairly flat speaker grill that I will then carpet over so the sub is not seen.

You say it doesn't look pretty? That looks fresh as f...!

Good luck!

I also recommend the LED interior lighting, did that on my GD (ha, just one light anyways) and it looks worlds better than the old incandescent that made everything look old and crappy.
I installed a 48 led panel in the dome light area. Tight fit but it fit, cause it's a Fit ;)

Thanks! I tried to make it look like it belonged there. Oddly this car I want to keep looking fairly stock so except minor mods.

The dash install is decent but behind it is a rats nest of wires. Need to clean that up and wire up the factory USB location to the USB hub behind the N7.

Tweeters are in the factory location and look like some odd bubbles atm. Will finish smoothing them out in time too. Really want them to color match the interior instead of being black bubbles... but unsure if that will look good or even work out. The tweeter grill comes off so might check if I can get a replacement grill in case I hate it if I paint it. If I can then for sure its going to try and be made to look oem.

The 6.5's in the doors are hidden in the factory location.

For the interior LEDs gave some thought to doing some blue accents to match the rest of the dash including the dome light going blue LED.

Will find some white LEDs for the map light.

The biggest mod probably happening is the false floor with the fiberglass sub box. I have started on the floor but having to make an emergency trip out of town on Friday.... so will probably get a temporary wooden sub box made to fit in the spare tire well and the false floor cut. Will have to hold off on carpeting the false floor for another day.

Looks good, but how do you access the power button for the N7?

Right now thats a little bit of a problem. I have an app that will restart the tablet or throw it into recovery mode etc... If I need to restart it for it being unresponsive then I have to open the dash. To make this easier I have removed some of the clips so I can just pull the piece off with minimal effort. It has frozen I think once maybe twice. I am running Kangarom v2. Those pictures show it running Timurs USB Rom. So far running kangarom it has all the benefits of Timurs but is running KK and seems to be snappier.

The nex 7 looks good! How are you getting audio signal to the car without a headunit?? And did you wire on a mobile hot spot in for data or is your nex7 already capable with data?

USB out to berringer dac then to a clarion eq then to the amp.

The mobile Hotspot I wifi tether from my Android or my mifi. With the mifi I usually USB tether. My n7 does not have cell capabilities.

Any chance you have a part number or link to the berringer?

Clarion EQS746

Changes one input to front, rear, and sub. Along with very basic EQ to bring things a little more inline without needing processing on the N7. It is not perfect but till I get the money for the Audison DSP then it will be just fine.

Ok thanks for the info I might be doing this on the near future.
