What hitch do you have? I'm in the same boat; lots of cycling, but not a big fan of lying the bike down in the cargo area. Knocks the wheels around too much. Would love a hitch rack.
I went with a Draw Tite Sportframe hitch. Another style uses two bolts in the center of the car that I did not fancy using. The installation is fairly straightforward, but it helps to have a second pair of hands.

Thanks! I wonder if the sport's body kit will make installation tricky.

it should be the same. If you look on etrailer.com’s website, they show pictures of Sport Fits with hitches installed. I bought my hitch from etrailer.

Appreciate it man. I have a shop near me that deals in the same hitch brand as you. They quoted me $200 installed. Not a bad price, but I still am going to shop around a little more as there's no reason I couldn't do it myself.
I agree. $200 installed is alright. I believe the hitch was $100 when I purchased it. So $100 for the labor to cut/drill in to the subframe (in order to pass the anchor plate through), then installing the hitch, is not a terrible price to pay. It depends on what your time is worth to you. I am stubborn, though, and usually insist on doing it myself. So, on occasion, the one hour job takes three hours. But, then I have the satisfaction, along with busted knuckles, of having done it on my own.
i keep forgetting to get some new clips for my yakima roof rack. wish they didnt cost $80 a pair. funny thing is the person i bought my rack off of had it installed on a Fit, and I sold the clips and good condition pads a couple years ago since I had it mounted on a xa.
did you have any complaints with your roof rack?
i also keep forgetting that i know how to ride a bike. Thanks for posting pics of yours...as it has reminded me to ride mine. I dusted off my fixed gear to ride to work for the week, a couple weeks ago when my wheel studs decided to break and I needed to wait for the parts to come in. I lost interest for a year, and now its calling me back. Out of shape! Need to dust the mountain bikes off now, especially considering how much I have spent on my newer one. Its funny how bike parts cost as much or more that car parts.lol

some oe foglights would look sweet on your car!
The only complaint I have about my roof rack is the drop in MPG. I averaged about 2 mpg less than without. Wind noise was fine, but I do not have a sunroof (actually, do any 2nd gen Fits?) and I had a wind-fairing on the front.
If you are looking for Q Clips, there are a few places that have them discounted - etrailer.com, competitivecyclist.com, etc. I do not know if they have our specific clip (Q99? or is it Q102?), but the prices range from $15-25/pair.
The funny thing about cycling was it was a break for me from racing motorcycles - nothing pro-level, just a bunch of working stiffs dreaming of podiums. The motorized, two-wheeled fun was getting too expensive, so cycling was going to be 1) cheaper and 2) healthier. Fast forward a few years, and I have spent much more on bicycles. Granted, I am healthier, but I still get the itch every time I see a Honducamahazaki roll past. It helps that there is a huge cycling community in SoCal; Colorado is full of cyclists as well, no?
I do look at OEM fogs and a wheel/tires upgrade, but then my mind goes back to bike parts. $500 buys at least 10% of a bicycle. Haha!
thanks for the recommendations on the clips. yea they are q99 front and rear. fortunately I live close to the mountains so I can ride to the foothills to get a bit of a mtb fix....in albuquerque actually. theres a decent amount of people that ride but I usually ride by myself between my ever changing schedule and fitness level. I finally made it out on the mtb this week for a short ride (twice actually!).
looked on ebay for the foglight kits for the base model...u are right, they are expensive. personally id max out my budget for an item like a fog light kit at about $100. sometimes for random cars there are full ebay kits for around $50 bucks...unfortunately you are not so lucky.
Thanks gents! I did keep the JDM lights. I thought about selling them originally to recoup some of the costs of the Spyder lights, but I want them as backups in case I want to change back. I even still have the OEM US tail lights as well. That shed needs to grow a little bigger for all the spare car / bicycle parts.
I received my master window switch today, so I will be messing with that later.
But first...map lights! I never thought I would really care to have them, but it seems like an easy enough DIY. And with the walkthroughs that I found here, I knocked this "mod" out easy. The periphery of my cut-out on the headliner looks terrible. Thankfully, the extra lip for the map light covers my crappy technique. A surgeon, I would never be.
I like them so far, but now I might get LED bulbs to match the dome light (came like that).
Also, picked up a set of Racing Vision bulbs for a wicked deal (thanks evilchargerfan!).
Driver's side has the new bulb, passenger side the OEM bulb (please excuse the headlamps - they are dirty AF):
OEM beam is on the right side

good job on the map light! i almost never use my interior lights...but it is nice to have them, especially with super bright LEDs in the event you need them. Having improved headlights is always nice too. Right now im super excited with the ebay chinese Led headlight bulbs. Ive realized they dont have the same throw of halogens or projectors...and the high beams are almost non existent...but i love the color and i dont drive at night much so they work out ok for me.
It has spilled over into a new slight hoarding habit I now have with LED flashlights . LED flashlights are so cheap nowadays (and free at harbor freight with coupons), that I feel like I should have them everywhere "just in case". Im always telling my lady how awesome LEDs are with their brightness and current price, and remind her of how crappy incandescent flashlight bulbs use to be. Shes not so excited.

I have flashlights - LED and non-LED - stashed all over the house. My wife is also not as enthused about the collection of flashlights, until the power goes out. Then all of us have a personal light as well as those "lantern" style lights for bedrooms and bathrooms. When the big one (earthquake disaster zombie apocalypse) hits and we need three sets of Fit tail lights, I can finally tell her "I told you so."

nice... have any more shots a little further back?
I've been looking and thinking about getting red ones for mine since I got the car but can't find them for less than $30 each (for chinese ones of course). i guess I'll just have to pull the trigger on them at that price
