A damper thought....
Ok, so we know that GD suspension will work on GE (I understand at least one member is running GD Mugen setup on his GE)...
And...we know that the GD dampers are valved much stiffer than the GE due to the changes in the suspension and chassis... So...couldn't we (GE owners) view the OEM valved dampers available for the GD as an equivalent to stiffer aftermarket dampers? For example, if you are running lowering springs (higher that stock rate) and running OEM GD dampers (higher than stock GE valving), wouldn't that conceivably be closer to a matched spring/shock than simply running lowering springs alone? Whew...thanks for listening and would love to know other peoples take on this. |
Interesting. The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that GD spring rates are much higher than the GE's. Got any references to the damping rates?

That is my point...because the GD spring are a higher rate, logically, would assume the dampers are a stiffer valving to match. So repalace GE loweing springs into the equation and it should equal a close match
ideally, if we could get a shock dyno of a oem Gd vs a oem GE shock, we could compare the two...sadly I have neither. Anyone have a shock dynometer? :) |
