You have a GD right?
You guys have an easier path to rear disc brakes. ---> 2007-2011 Honda Fit rear drum to 11" disc conversion It says 07-11, but it only works on 07-08's. The USDM GE8's have a welded rear spindle.

Those would fit the GD's, AJR also had a T1R kit (for the GD's), but they discontinued it.

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gaug...onversion.html

There were quite a few threads on GD rear disk conversions.

Those are the parts as per Dave's thread...

We might need new brake lines, but not 100% sure.

LOL, Thats exactly what I said when I 1st checked that option out.

Sorry for the delay.

The machinist I've used in the past for all my custom flanges gave me a price of $400 for the 1st set (4 pieces) plus shipping, this does not include the cad conversion costs. Then $325 for each additional there after.

Still waiting for a 2nd quote, its a friend of a friend, sad story, they were moving their operations from Jacksonville to Tampa & his wife was in a bad accident, so I havent been pushing it

Parts needed for the complete conversion are as follows
Rotors & Calipers (new or used) I got mine for $200 with the ebrake cables
SS brake lines (Goodridge ss for the CRZ) incl the fronts
8) 12x1.25x30mm grade 10 or better Bolts
4) 10x1.25x20mm grade 10 or better Bolts
2) male to male metric adaptors for the brake lines

Just lmk guys if this is something you guys want to pursue since I already have mine

So you figure $400 for the custom flanges, ~ $200 or so for the rotors & calipers & ebrake line, ~ $150 or so for the SS lines.. not including bolts, adaptors & pads..
Is my math about right?

Which rotors & calipers did you go with?

At about that total price I'd be interested in the flanges (now or later on, no rush, whenever it's all set up). Even better if we can get a group in on this for better pricing.
Put me down.

99 Civic SI, will see how many more I can get
I got pads with the calipers & rotors...had low miles, just used those.
Bolts are maybe $10-$20 new
Need to add cad time. maybe $100-$150
The 1st set is the most expensive, so it will be better to do a 10 minimum order to spread it across.

Cool, gotta remember that.

I'm probably going to bring it in to Zeckhausen Racing and have them do the install & supply the rotors/calipers/bolts, etc. So not too worried about sourcing those parts, just needed to know compatibility. Thanks.

Definitely interested especially if we can get a group, even better, put me on the list.

The Main Kit Flange bolts directly to the Factory Axle. The welded factory flange will need some minor trimming to put the 2nd flange (for the caliper) on.

Post some photos of what you're planning on making...I'd like to see it installed and the brackets that were made.

There is a link to pictures in post #1

If someone can extract them & post it up, that would be great.

You have made the same mistake T1R did on their rear disc conversion…you’ve clocked the caliper wrong! Now you have a very long pedal travel when you hit the brakes…

I have no pedal issues, in fact the pedal feel in improved
What is "clocked the caliper wrong"? T1r must have had a different issue, If you think about it, Hydraulics doesn't really care how the caliper is oriented, they could be under the rotor or backwards.
These particular Calipers are where they were on the SI, Left is left, Right is right, just not indexed exactly (meaning these are in the 3 o'clock position, the SI was about 1 o'clock.

Thought about it for a second, when the pedal feel changes to spongy the caliper was wrong, the piston is too big. Thats why I used a civic caliper instead of an Acura....the civic master bore is similar in size.

What in the world do those two things have to do with one another?

By that logic, clocking the compressor cover on a turbocharger would affect performance.
