My Spoon Rigid Collar & Honda Insight Lower Control Arm
#21
Of course, I did the alignment myself with my alignment tools.
Unfortunately, I did not measure the weight of both parts, but the aluminum is much lighter.

Wait, before I do the LCAs when my collars arrive. .. I found it in the 2nd gen forum, but all mentioned models are the 3rd gen... Can the part number listed for insight aluminum lca fit both models of the fit or only the newer gen?

I know for sure the Honda Insight Aluminum LCA will fit the 2nd generation (GE) (up to model year 2013) because per this thread I did mine, but I do not know whether it will fit the current model (GK) starting from model 2015,

Absolutely no problem, mate. It's an old topic and I just didn't want to see something online, buy the wrong piece and figure it all out when the cars apart and the wife is still at work with no car for me. Doing coilovers this next week or so along with spoon collars so I wanted to do the LCAs as I'm down there. Thanks for the writeup!

The new ones use a compliance bushing instead of the linear bushing that bolts to the frame. The designs probably have comparable movement. The control arm pivots on the compliance bushing whereas the GE's move up and down in their rear bushing.
I don't like compliance bushings. They tend to be weaker and more crack prone than the linear bushings. The whole arm looks weaker than the GE arm.
Looks like another reason to prefer the GE.
