Has anyone put 18's on the GE8?

Ok so I got lucky I guess when I took the new wheels I'd just bought for my 97 Civic and put them on the Fit the day I bought it. They are DR-33's from discount tire. The tires are 205/40-17 ZR. No rubbing! Once I got around to doing some work ;) I noticed even after lowering on Drop Zone springs I still have a larger gap in the fender opening than I want. I'm not ready to do coilovers just yet. Two of my wheels need "Refinishing" which typically runs $150 EA which is MORE than I paid for the rims. So, since I'm trying to decide what to do, I figured new wheels when the tires are due. Replacement would work better than trying to work coilovers into the budget on top of refinishing or repainting the wheels. Below are a few pics of my current setup. Even after the spring install NO RUBBING...

I know I can mod the inner fender but I just bought them for my base to sport front conversion. If it requires modification I'll just have the wheels refinished and get 205/45's next time I get tires to close the gap. -Ray |
I think your tire/wheel set up looks awesome! 18's are a bit heavy, would kill the ride due to aspect ratio needed, affect the power (don't have alot to begin with:rotfl:) and hurt mileage. Just giving you some food for thought and again, those wheels look killer on the Fit!!!

Thanks for the response. He has a nice setup but it looks like he has coilovers and is sitting lower than me. I have no idea what offset my rims are. They are DR-33's from discount that were ordered for a 97 Civic DX. They just happened to work.
