TPMS on Aftermarket Rims
 

Hi,

I've tried searching for the answer to the question I was seeking but I couldn't seem to find it. I was wondering do I have to go to the dealer every time to have them reprogram my TPMS after installing aftermarket rims? Because I'm currently on 17inch rims 205/45/17 Hancook Ventus V2 H437 and the TPMS light came on after I messed around with the tire pressure. It was working fine for 2 days after installing them and I checked the tire pressure was around 48-50 PSI. But today after work I was reading online that my tire pressure might be too high so I've decided to drop it down to 40 PSI, after doing so and later on tonight while driving, the TPMS light came on. I stopped by the gas station to put some air back into it and raised it back to around 48-50PSI to see if the light would be gone after driving around for 20 minutes and now I can't seem to get rid of the light. If anyone has run into this problem or have any suggestion/help please let me know what I did wrong.

Also forgot to mention that I've also purchased sensors for the aftermarket rims because I plan on swapping back to OEM for the winter time, so I didn't have to deal with swapping the sensors back and forth.

Note to self, "I should've left it alone the whole time" :(

from what i remember you can only set 4 sensors to your car, meaning when you change back to your oem's during winter you'll have to get those reprogrammed. though i am not 100% certain on this.

48-50psi per tire sounds quite ridiculous imo as most tires have a MAX of 50-55psi.
