Throttle Percentage Wide Open Throttle

I am noticing on all my 1/4 mile runs that my throttle percentage is capped off at 78%. It does not go over this, no matter how fast the car is going.

Is there anything to gain by having my throttle position open more (To 100%)? It seems like a stupid question but there is a reason for this showing 78%. Perhaps a misreading from the ECU? Or you can only get full power at 78% and going over causes issues that are unknown to me?

I don't know! I see this and wanted to share. What's the deal with this? If I can gain more power but having it open more, how may I go about this and what are the repercussions?

Below is one example of what I'm talking about.

That's weird. I wonder how the torque app is reading the throttle position sensor. Unless Honda is capping the power by reducing how much air is going through with the tps at wot.

My GE reports the same thing on my Scangauge. Both are reading off the OBD port, so it's the same source data. Foot off the pedal is 14, floored is 78 or 79. I do believe the throttle is fully open. I think it's just that the range reported is not a percent.

Just like temperature in Celsius is 0 to 100, while Fahrenheit is 32 to 212. Different ways of reporting the same thing.

I believe you are correct PaleMelanesian.

Throttle Position Sensor Camaro

It is reading the position of the Throttle Position Sensor, not your pedal. GM builds in some room in the sensor for calibration, manufacturing differences in sensors ect. Normal. If it goes to 0 or 100% it''ll set a code. That's how it can check itself. It knows the extremes are abnormal.

I'm sure your throttle blade is 100% open at 84% TPS
This may be some industry standard. Thanks though!

My sensor goes up to 102-104% in my 2007 Fit, yet only goes as high as 92% in my 2012 Civic. Both are using FlashPro.

My Autel shows 84 degrees on the throttle plate as max value. The value more than likely is in degrees

My KTuner shows 100% on one throttle reading and around 113% on the other one.... 🤷🏽‍♂️

An aftermarket throttle controller may help with that.
