Non Stop Tuning (NST) Custom Crank Pulley
Non Stop Tuning
Non Stop Tuning has agreed to take measurements of a stock pulley I'll be sending them and make a custom 2015 crank pulley. Perhaps with this, they'll be able to duplicate what they make and have pulleys available for the 2015 Honda Fit. Just putting this out there for documentation purposes. I've already ordered a crankshaft pulley to be sent out to them to measure. Here's what it looks. The front of the pulley --> https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/36...908/suL1Ap.jpg The back of the pulley --> https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/36...674/UYXoS6.jpg Here is the weight of the stock crank pulley --> 3.4125lbs (1547g) https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/36...540/PparhW.jpg I have no expectations performance wise either way. Just doing it because.......I can. Quicker revs would be nice. I know I'd get better results with it being underdriven but that is a little much for my ride at this moment. Will update with new custom crank pulley weight and pics when I receive it (30-40 days estimated). I'll be sending the stock pulley out to them tomorrow. Until then..... **Update 11/2/15** The NST Pulley has Arrived!! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...a467e67d26.jpg Front of stock pulley on the left, Front of NST pulley on the right. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...4d6755d7c2.jpg Back of stock pulley on the left, Back of NST pulley on the right. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fit...cdf0fcec9a.jpg Weight of NST pulley is 1.14lbs (519g) Total weight savings with the NST Pulley = 2.27lbs (1028g) |
Awesome! Keep us posted on how it turns out! I had their Crank and Alternator pulleys on a Scion a few years ago and loved them.

|
Will you guys be making alternator pulleys too?
|
**Update 12-19-14**
My apologies! I never did provide a link to their website in my first post. Although Mike has joined the site from NST and has a link in his sig. Just trying to make things easier for some. |

If interested in a custom lightweight crank pulley, please email NST. Thank you. |
Myxalplyx, once you get yours installed can you let us know how hard it was to install, bolt/nut sizes, maybe post a how-to, along with noticeable differences?

I'll get follow-up from him (or her..Haha) when it happens. I definitely will give my observations afterwards. I'd expect a more measurable result if it was underdriven but I already have a tiny battery that I don't want to compromise. |
**Update 1-22-15**
I never did post what the price is for the pulley. This will cost approximately $198.00 (Which is how much I am paying for this to be done). I have no further updates at this time. Just waiting for the pulley to be completed and sent to me. The price seems more than reasonable to me. I'm a huge fan for undersizing but I have a small/lightweight racing battery that I am running (That is still in the car while temps drop into the single digits). I don't want to have any recharging issues. So I'm sticking with a stock diameter aftermarket pulley. |
Dyno information off of a 1.6ltr Hyundai Veloster. I thought this may be an interesting comparison to our pulley since the Hyundai Veloster's stock pulley weight of 3lbs is the same stock weight as our pulley.

It appears the dyno was fairly recent as well. |

**Update 5/27/15** Sorry I haven't updated this thread. Last update I got was on 5/27. Here is the email I received. "Hi Kevin, We apologize for the delay. Custom work has been extremely slow lately. We definitely have not forgotten about you. Your custom pulleys are in the works and I have currently tagged them with urgent. I hope to have a better ETA for you early in June. We appreciate the continued interest and support. MIKE @ NST NST Customer Service NonStopTuning | NST USA facebook.com/NonStopTuningUSA instagram.com/NonStopTuning" I did call Non Stop Tuning today and left a message. I'll let you guys know if I heard or read anything. Sorry for any delays. I guess this is just how these things go. BTW: He says 'custom pulleys' since I have another pulley being custom made in the works (2010 Toyota RAV4). If they get done, the Lotus Evora, Toyota MR2 (2GR-FE Engine swapped), Toyota Camry V6, Aurion and RAV4 communities are waiting on those in the forums. |
**Update 9-14-15** Reply from email (and phone call) I did earlier today and yesterday. "Hi Kevin Thank you for the continued interest, and we apologize for the delay. Your parts are on the machines now and I think we should have product ready for you in early October. I hope to have an update for you around that time. Many thanks! MIKE @ NST NST Customer Service NonStopTuning | NST USA facebook.com/NonStopTuningUSA instagram.com/NonStopTuning" This all I have for now. When he refers to 'parts' he talking about a new 2010 Toyota RAV4 V6 pulley that I sent out to him, so a lightweight custom made version could be made as well. |
**Update 10-29-15** The pulley is made and will be on its way shortly. I will post up pics, weight information, etc when it arrives. Be aware that this is on NST's website and may be available for ordering either now or soon. All I can tell you is that the color I have is red (I'm cool with any color to be honest). I'm happy about this is an understatement. I will not be dynoing this car for before and after horsepower/torque numbers since it has the CVT tranny and this tranny + dyno = sucks. I will be testing this for 1/4 mile information. An improved 60ft time is expected with maybe 1/10th of a second shaved off in my 1/4 mile times. Also, hoping to be consistently run a trap speed of 91mph+. Quicker throttle response and a slightly better gas mileage is expected (Less rotational mass). Ho much less, I will document of course. This is all for now! :vtec: |
Nice, glad this finally got made
|
**Update 11/2/15** Updated first post with lightweight NST pulley info and pics. |
**Update 11/7/2015** A professional car shop and a Midas auto shop could not remove this pulley. It is a BEAST. A local Honda dealership will not remove this pulley and do any aftermarket pulley installations. Sooooooo..... I think I just have to get the pulley off (Honda dealership) and put back on. The first time removing it is probably the hardest. I'll give this a shot and then have it installed by the Midas shop I always go to, next week. Until then....that's all for now.... |
