AEM Cold Air Intake System for 2019 Fit Ex 6M
Considering a AEM Cold Air Intake System for my 2019 Fit Ex 6M. Has anyone installed one? Are there any problems with engine warning lights?? I will likely pair it with a HKS 32016-AH031 - Silent Hi-Power Series 304 SS Axle-Back Exhaust System. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. |
The intake looks like it draws air from the rear of the engine bay, as opposed to an actual cold air intake. Paired with an axle-back exhaust, power gains will be minimal, but it will probably sound pretty cool.

BTW, none of that stuff will make the car faster... |
My main concern is engine light error codes. Any problems?

to answer the OP's question, you shouldnt throw any CEL
assuming you're hunting power (by virtue of buying an intake and exhaust) ... I'd like to chime in ... if I may: "Honda Fit Enthusiasts Starter Kit": -Ktuner - this really makes your mods (aem intake + hks exhaust) COME ALIVE -Electronic Throttle Controller (Like Pedal Commander or similar device by another brand) -Rear Motor Mount (Beat Rush or Hasport) or Pre Filled Oem Torque Rod with super hard urethane -Front Lower Control Arm Brace (Like Megan Racing) -Rear Sway Bar (Megan or Progress) -Baffled Oil Catch Can (Any brand as long as it is Rick Approved) |
My wish list keeps growing and growing and growing....
Thanks for all the great advice.

Modding since more than 20 years ago, "cold air" intake does nothing but give you sound to make you think you are going faster. In most cases, you actually gather and retain more hot air while in street driving conditions due to the aluminum tubing that can singe your skin off on a very hot summer day. The OEM intake system is a cold air intake system, most aftermarket ones that do not have an enclosed air box is a hot air intake system. The only intake air system worthy of mentioning was the one made by Comptech on my ancient 98 V6 Accord which had an enclosed air box with plastic tubing and a silicone coupler to the throttle body, much like the OEM setup.

There is always the dryer hose mod. Just remove the OEM resonator and snorkel that goes up to the grill. Then take a dryer hose and lead it to the bottom of the OEM air box.
