Automatic Lift Gate Retrofit?

Has anyone ever tried retrofitting an automatic lift gate mechanism? Either Aftermarket or OEM? I would really appreciate some guidance if someone has. I’m pretty sure the HRV kit would work just fine and the trim pieces with the buttons would even mount up.

it would be really great for me to open up and have my dogs run jump in as I approach the car.
