Cadillac Horns

There has been some talk of installing Cadillac four-note horns on the Fit. I like the idea, but I'm concerned about fitting them into the Fit. Here's a good article.

Cadillac 4 Note Horns

These Honda horns sound good - good installation video.

EDIT: After watching the installation video, I ordered those Sport Horns from College Hills. They are loud, plug-and-play, half the price of the Cadillac horns, and College Hills went to the trouble of making that video.

Surely, they must come in a narrower size for the Fit. :D

That is cool. I have a Stebel air horn on my Honda motorcycle and cars jump out of the way when they hear it. Doing something similar for the Fit would be great.

If we are able to swap out horns so easily, wonder if anyone would be crazy enough to put a train horn on the FIT? It be so loud and noone would expect it from a sub compact car

You'd need a lot of air and a lot of room to fit everything, if you want to install train horns.. I had air horns on my motorcycle (a Gold Wing), and everything was tucked away out of sight.

I can't imagine that these train horns are legal.

Nope they are def not legal, but thats what makes it plausible deniability, who the hell would install such a horn on a Honda FIT. The day may come and it will be posted on FITFreak! lol

As long as you don't use that horn, you're okay. Just for bragging rights. :D

You need one of these:

Thank you very much for this horn idea. Bill #22335

Nobody uses their horn here. I just realized I've never heard mine.

I got my horns yesterday, along with very good directions. The horns seem to be about the same size as the standard horns, and they're plug-and-play. I just wish I didn't have to do so much disassembly to get at them. It's only 15° outside.

Come to Boston! It just might be the world capital of honking.

Fantastic thread as usual, Silver. Great affordable mod to make our little cars bigger on the road. Can you comment on the quality of the horns' construction? I assume they are metal but the pictures make them look like they could be plastic.

Plastic, so they will never rust.

Wow, midtown Manhattan! You don't miss all the activities found in midtown? How does one adjust to the quiet sedetary life of retirement, after living in the center of the world?

(speculation: your answer will be Martini's).

follow-up question, what brand of Gin?

Amazingly I do not miss NYC at all, and I lived there 35 years. I guess it was time for a nice, quiet, warm place. And I get to have a Honda Fit!

Oh and Martinis indeed, but vodka, not gin!
