Engine Splash Shield
 

Hi, the other day we heard a noise and saw the shield hanging and took it in to get looked at. They took it off and had to completely replace it, so they ordered new parts and then 3 days later took it in to get the new shield put on. That was yesterday. We were able to drive mostly without issues (we thought we heard a weird sound once or twice) but then today while running errands, came out to car and it is making a terrible grinding noise. It is constant when driving, not specific to pressing gas/brakes/etc. I don't see anything hanging at this point. Is it possible there was an issue with the replacement? Or thoughts on the grinding noise? It seems very strange not to be a coincidence. Currently waiting for car to be towed to have them look at it, but they weren't going to have openings until Monday at least. Just hoping basically to find out possibilities are for issue.

TLDR Car is grinding while driving/backing up but not specific to braking or turning. No visible items hanging and dragging under car.
