Yeah have taken our '15 LX manual on several road trips, been perfectly fine for two people, .... more people would shorten the trip storage wise. Perfectly fine at highway speeds other than if ya get caught in in high winds, not a fault of the Fit, just a fault of a small light cat in general. My mother in law gave me crap saying my car was too loud, the exhaust was broken. I'm like, no, Elizabeth, it's the muffler - I put a Tanabe Medallion Touring on it and she doesn't understand why, which is hilarious.....before I met any of them, my father in law used to get tons of noise ordinance tickets for glass packs on his old cars..... LOL
59,900 miles on my first 2015 LX 6spd, with fully loaded trips from Indiana to: South Carolina, Missouri, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama, and Georgia. Plus, maybe twelve trips that were 6-7 hours. Fully loaded means 800+ pounds of people and stuff, with two bicycles on the back. Car was a pleasure to drive at 72mph, but I eventually got tired of the high rpm noise and that helped push me to a 2018 EX CVT.
65,000 miles on my 2018 EX CVT, with fully loaded trips to: Florida, two times to South Carolina, two1800 mile round trip into Canada, Michigan, and Oklahoma.
I love my larger tires and my air helper springs. I've got posts on both.
My only tip would be that when possible, try to get weight into the middle of the car. with the seats folded down, instead of empty back seats and everything inside the hatch.
Back home after 3,200 mile road trip from NY to Los Angeles in new to me 2019 Fit Sport w/CVT trans.
Zero problems, averaged 38 MPG’s over 5 days of driving 8-10 hours per day. The back seat and rear cargo area were loaded with my daughters possessions, maybe 300-350lbs.
The car handled well though easily moved about by mild wind. Mostly 75-80 mph once we hit the Midwest along I-80 and eventually I-70.
The front seat lower cushion not so comfortable for extended driving but granted this car was designed for local driving and not meant to be a grand tourer.
Surprisingly the CVT trans handled some significant extended climbs very well.
All in all a comfortable, economical and fun trip.
Now my daughter has the car which will remain with her in Los Angeles.
I found a Honda specialty shop “Honcura” in Glendale which seems to be a good choice for service. The owner Stanley seems to be honest and knowledgeable so hopefully all is good.

Shift to lower gear and your Fit will sprint uphill effortlessly!
I have been reading this thread from the beginning and have been wondering why people question the suitability of Fit for long distance road trips. And at the same time I have been pondering what makes a vehicle suitable for such long travelling. Certainly there are cars, which are not suitable for highway due to e.g. bad road stability or insufficient performance to keep pace with the traffic and to overtake slower vehicles on single lane roads.
In my opinion the criteria for long distance capable car are
a) stability on road - including uneven roads
b) comfortable seat
c) sufficient performance - for overtakes and uphills
d) good visibility also in adverse visibility conditions - windows, mirrors, lights defrosting, wipers and washers
e) heating and air-conditioning
f) decent noise level
In my scale Fit/Jazz passes all these criteria, seating comfort being the biggest issue.
Regarding luggage, I have learned to travel light for being able to travel for business in planes with hand luggage only, and with same philosophy four people with luggage fit very well in Fit/Jazz.
...and we just returned from vacation, several days delayed attempting an end run around Ian (which never hit us).
The car performed perfectly despite driving through tropical storm rain and wind for hours. Then again, it wouldn't be our vacation if we didn't hit some tropical weather.
I intend this to be in good jest: at least the Honda will get there, BMWguy.

Most newer cars are very reliable these days though they all have their issues.
I've made 3 cross country road trips in my 15 EX 6MT. 1 from Houston to Palo Alto CA, and 2 from Mobile AL to Palo Alto CA. All 3 times I took a lot of back roads and as little interstate as I reasonably could. I enjoyed the trips immensely!! On my last one I even towed a pretty well loaded U-Haul enclosed trailer, and the Fit handled it like a real pro. I did use my iPad and bluetooth OBDII adapter to monitor coolant temp, oil temp and some other vitals on that trip just in case. I even took it across the Sierra Nevada mountains on CA-108, which if you are familiar with that part of the country is VERY steep and VERY twisty, but an absolutely beautiful drive.. No problems at all, except the my drilled and slotted front rotors and EBC pads weren't quite up to the task, I had to stop pretty often on the steep downhill sections to let the brakes cool off. Other highlights were tent camping in Monument Valley, the Bonneville Salt Flats and the awesome, beautiful and twisty roads leading to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (almost totally devoid of any other traffic that particular day). It's not a road trip car for everyone, yse, it's a little loud inside., No it doesn't have the smooth ride of a Lexus, but I enjoyed it very much nonetheless.
