CMBS won't shut off
Hi, All. On my 2020 EX, 35.5k miles, the CMBS indicator light won't shut off. Came on during a 30F degree, blowin' snow storm at highway speeds. Cleared off the windshield, which looked clear. Shut off the engine. Restarted and shut off a couple of times. Indicator stays on. Suggestions? Thanks.

'Collision Mitigation Braking System TM (CMBS TM ) *
Can assist you when there is a possibility of your vehicle colliding with a vehicle or a pedestrian detected in front of yours. The CMBSTM is designed to alert you when a potential collision is determined, as well as to reduce your vehicle speed to help minimize collision severity when a collision is deemed unavoidable.' I believe the CMBS was introduced as part of the Honda Sensing set of features with 2018 models. May have been optional in some cars. My 2018 Canadian LX has the set. Non-existant in cars before 2018. Not sure where the sensor is. Maybe behind H emblem on front grill. Clean it off. |

Hi, All. Turns out that the sensor is to the right (passenger side) of the rear view mirror (2020 EX). There's an on/off switch to the left of the steering wheel. After clearing the windshield, and with the ignition on, you shut off the system. Then (assuming there's no other problem), the indicator light goes out. Next time you start the car, the system automatically goes back on.
