I need to run a 12V wire through the firewall of my 20 LX CVT. There are several YouTube videos indicating several approaches to this problem but I wonder if there are any more sophisticated solutions than those already given. I've looked at the layout of grommets through the firewall in the parts catalogue but it's difficult to correlate the pictures there with the actual car, which has a lot of wires, pipes, etc.

 

You could always run a corresponding sized grommet at the top of the pedal assemblies through. Just source - drill - fit grommet - run wire(s). Just make sure nothing gets caught too close to moving/hot parts.
