Set for January 13 reveal Honda has disclosed plans to show the 2015 U.S.-spec Fit at next month’s North American International Autohttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png Show in Detroit. We saw the new Honda Fit/Jazz earlier this year in July and now the Japanese automaker is ready to unveil the U.S.-spec model. From this single teaser photo released by Honda we notice the taillight design will be retained on the American version and chances are the rest of the design will be mostly carried over without any major differences. Honda mentions its new subcompact model will be available with an engine (most likely a 4-cylinder gasoline mill) from the Earth Dreams Technology and they say it will be one of the safest vehiclehttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png in its segment thanks to the proprietary next-gen Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. So when can we drive one? :)

Should be available for sale in summer from everything I am hearing.
So what about the 2014 Fit? They are skipping directly to 2015? |

So what about the 2014 Fit? They are skipping directly to 2015? I assume that they will do the same thing with the new generation Fit. |

Now that it's hot make me want to do chrome wrap.

Always interesting to see concept drawings like that. 2-door pocket rocket - you can imagine yourself going down the road at, uh, slightly above the speed limit, with the turbo charged 3 cyl DOHC direct injected engine just purring.......and then the red & blue lights in the mirror and you're thinking, oh, fooey........:)
|
It looks more like the GE8 with the headlights if you could get the grille and bumper would be all set.
|
I can't find any definite answer to this - Is the Honda Fit RS coming to US or not? yes or no.
|
Don't get your hopes up; they don't want to cannibalize sales of larger Hondas that have higher profits. The small car market is very different in the rest of the world...
|
Be aware the 2015 US-market Honda Fit may have a different nose design than the JDM Honda Fit due to NHTSA safety requirements for bumpers and turn signal lights.
The car will likely offer only the new 1.5-liter Earth Dreams Technology engine rated at 122 bhp with either CVT automatic or six-speed manual, at least for the hatchback version. The hybrid version may be offered only the sedan version, which may also be shown at NAIAS next month. |

I still like my '08.

By the way, someone in Brazil caught a picture of effectively an undisguised 2015 Honda Fit--at least the model to be sold in Brazil:
http://oi44.tinypic.com/6ekmc8.jpg The vehicle likely has the final US-model nose, but the headlights are likely not the US-model headlights, since the lacks the amber turn signal lights on the other edge of the headlamp housing, which may be required by NHTSA regulations. |
I didn't originally notice the chrome strip on the hatch until now..

Someone managed to get a picture of a North American 2015 Honda Fit on a pilot production run at the Celaya, Mexico assembly line:

Damn it. I'm actually liking the new fit a lot more. Like japan tragic posted above though, it's non-led tails again lol! Always some kind of modding to do.
|
Lol I can't help but see the front end as a face. Compared to the jdm front it looks the usdm has had a few joints.
Am excited to see the final outcome and how they'll look in person. |
