2016 FITS Have Arrived

I see now that that the 2016 FITS are pouring into US dealers from the Mexican Plant.

Dealer inventories are growing.

Prices are up just $100.00 or less from the last price increase in 2015, (depending on model).

Hey. Out the door was about 20k. I actually went through my credit union auto buying service to find mine. It came from Berkeley Honda. I didn't deal with them personally only when they dropped of the car to my house and brought the paper work. Once I got the car I looked them up and was surprised that they had a very low rating and bad reviews. But you can try them if you like.

2015 Honda Fit EX Passionberry w/upgraded floor mats, $22700 out the door (California tax/license). I absolutely hate the location of the paddle shifters. Keep hitting them when I'm in heavy traffic and trying to use the left turn signal.GRRR. Also hate the NON-editable quick-text replies. Otherwise, car is great. I need a template for a cargo cover. Anyone willing to trace theirs and send it to me? Thanks, Amy near San Francisco

Just picked mine up yesterday after a week of stressing they would sell before I got to it.
2015 fit ex, modern steel manual. No add ons or accessories. $17900 car, $19818 OTD. Had to drive to a rural dealer 2.5 hrs away. My local dealer in Silicon Valley wouldn't match that price and had a gigantic markup on the add ons they add to everything, wouldn't take them off. They were charging $699 for wheel locks, cargo net, and door edge guards, and their starting car msrp was also above average. If you live in a high cost area like me, you will pay extra. The rural dealer was also super chill and laid back, the local one wasn't an ass but they were firm.

Congratulations! You are going to love it.

My policy has always for car dealers, doctors, etc. and even shoe repair is to travel to the location where the best people can do the job for reasonable cost.

You did the right thing. FITS, unlike Accord and Civic, are a limited production vehicle--In 2015, less than 100,000 were shipped to US dealers. Each dealer is only allocated a limited number, and in the Silicon Valley, A FIT is like a Mercedes in Beverly Hills.

Regarding the charge for $699 for wheel locks, Edge Guards, and a Cargo net. It must take an awful amount of labor hours to install those things on the FIT, because the parts cost is probably around $150.00. I am picturing a Technician working a half day on one car, getting those parts installed.

Those still looking for cars, bring your research! If you live in a big, high cost city, look in the country where these small cars aren't as popular.

I found that charge totally ridiculous. Their MSRP was $19,879 after those add ons ($19,180 before), so still very over priced. I flat out told him the MSRP everywhere else is $18,380 and those were accessories I didn't want and I could install those myself. I brought the printout of all the official Honda accessories that included prices. Had no idea that printout would be so useful because I kept referencing it and saying all these accessories should be under $200. He played stupid (I know it's how he's supposed to do it) and kept asking me where I'm getting these prices from. Needless to say it was no deal in the end but a huge learning experience for me. This was my first car purchase in 7 years. The non-local, rural dealer was super cool, no questions asked when I asked what accessories they add and asked to take it off. Getting to that $17,900 price was easy too, I probably didn't start low enough lol. Looking at some of the other prices people in other states got, I didn't get the best price but seeing how that local dealer marked everything up, I'm pretty happy.

Going in with research in hand made me feel comfortable when I couldn't come to an agreement with the local guy. I was super annoyed, but felt better about my other deal.

Yes, I love the stuff it has my old fit didn't have already My 6' tall boyfriend commented that it seems to have more room than my old one. Only issue so far is the bluetooth disconnecting from my phone. Re-paired them, didn't have it import phone contacts, fine now.

This is the power of the Internet, and one of the reasons that local dealerships need to change. Tesla simply deals directly with customers and frankly, I think the dealership model needs to change. Honda needs to have corporate stores where the price is published online, you have the price already, then do the paperwork, then get your car. Good for you. End the stereotypical slimy sales practices that are still so common.

BTW We a not there yet, so to find a good dealership and sales person do a Google search, read and get recommendations from others. You have a better chance of a good dealer experience rather than simply walking in and being treated badly.

2015 MT6 LX - $15,450 (plus fees and taxes) in Massachusetts.

ETA: I got plenty of quotes well under list just for asking by email. I dealt with this dealer in person, but with a quote from another dealer in hand.

Yeah, seriously, I bought mine in July and getting internet quotes was the way to go. Most dealers in my area list their entire inventory on their website, and have a button to click for an internet quote, which they email to you. I tried this with three or four dealers in my region and I was getting quotes hundreds below TrueCar. I probably could have used my lowest quote to negotiate something lower with another dealer, but I honestly didn't think I could go much lower than what I got.

15,6xx + taxes and fees looks good.

I just bought a 2016 manual LX here is what I've paid:

14,500 base + 820 dest = 15320 + taxes and dmv fees = $16,779 total.

Due to poorish credit 681 Experian I got a 4.89% interest rate with 2k down. So I had to take a loan of 4.89% for $14779 which added just under 2k to the car.

So with Finance and total it came out to $18,6xx

Looking at your deal, take a very close look at taxes and fees. Go in there knowing your tax rate. Mine here was 7.375% originally they quoted me at $1600 for taxes but after I did the math in front I was at 1172 or so.

Also, look into fees. In Jersey I'm not really too sure about but in NY DMV fees should be $235. And you should only pay a "document fee" on top of DMV fees. A "document fee" in NY is capped at $75.00, look at it for NJ.

It's the hidden fees to be weary of, do not accept any fees but DMV fees (and know exactly how much title, registration, and plates cost) + Doc fee.

Good luck man. The car is great.

Hey my first post!

I just bought my FIT this weekend, and I think I got a good deal

1. Model, any accessories: 2016 Honda Fit EX, with wheel locks
2. Location: Massachusetts
3. Dealer Price: $19,320 (including destination charges)
4. Selling Price (before trade): $17,679 - Total OTD $19,224 (not including my trade).

I think I did pretty good. Every dealership I e-mailed wouldn't match that price. The lowest price I got quoted from most dealerships was $18,800.

Let me know how you think I did.

OTD for $19.2K seems to be good price. I will pay $19.5K OTD in NJ, if I get it. (2016 FIT EX)
