Honda misreported air bag failures?
The allegation was made in this short podcast.
The recall may eventually involve 20-30 million cars. "Meanwhile there are other troubling complications with these recalls. A third-party audit is attempting to determine if Honda's reporting of injuries and fatalities was faulty." I wonder if our 2015 Fits have these air bags? |

It doesn't yet. However it sounds like this thing could widen, if you listen to the short podcast.

Broaden your horizons. This recall is not just related to Honda. It affects alot of other manufacturers that used Takata products.

The problem is with Takata manufactured air bag assemblies. While many manufacturers use Takata bags its not been published tat Honda is. If you are really concerned you'll have to perform the delicate task of exposing your air bags to see who made them. Right now only a recycle yard, body shops and some dealers would know if Takata bags were used. |

And yes, it looks like more than 20 million cars will be involved. Think of the crazy that will happen when owners are notified to park their cars til they get replacement igniters. The NHTSA is taking more heat sfor slow reaction but you can see why. |
