Looking for a Sunshade
Well, the title says pretty much everything, but I'm looking for a sunshade for the car, but so far the only thing I've found has not been tall enough to fill the windshield. The closest we got was actually too wide, and STILL not tall enough.
Anyone found anything that works? |
You can get a custom-fit one from Amazon or such like. Ferinstance, this one is what I got (well, the 2012 model version, since that's the year my car is) and it works quite nicely, though it's rather bulky rolled up. It has little ear flap bits to mostly cover the triangular windows next to the windshield and seems to be quite sturdy and well-made. I think there are a couple of other brands that are practically the same thing—perhaps exactly the same thing.

Intro-tech sunshades are probably the best in the market. They're model specific and fit the windshield perfectly. I have them in all my cars.

I ordered an ECLIPSE SUNSHADE from Autogeek. Cost $59.95. This brand has good reviews. BUT, I was sent a 19" sunshade, way too short since the windshield from top of dash to top of windshield measures 34" I just sent an email to Autogeek about returning this and getting the right size. Since it is NOV in MO I won't need sunshade for about 5 months. I will let you know what happens on this.

SR45: Thanks for the info! I was just the other day cussing out the shade I had for my 2015 Fit, which was supposed to work but was too short. Now I know where to go to get one. Hmmmm.... maybe I should put this on the list for Santa.

Look for a sale from Amazon. They have them all the time but about $34.00 now is not bad. Good luck kbonus

Thanks for the update. Guess I'll opt for the one on Amazon.

I usually get my shades from Honda dealership. Prices vary. Lowest I've seen is $29 upwards to $39. My local dealership is having a sale but no dice on 2015 Fit model yet.

I went to Auto Zone and bought 2 jumbo ones. Glued the overlap together and it fits perfectly on the outside. I tuck the ends in the door when I close it. I used it that way for years on my older Fit. Never a problem, and nobody tried to steal it. Cost: $12 Cuts down on the heat more, and you don't have to fiddle with it inside.
