Fill 'Er Up!

Just gassed up for $2.89/ gal. Cost me $21 to fill up my Fit. That is all. :thumbups:

Nice! At the other end of the spectrum, it costs me a Benjamin and then some to fill up my F-250 Powerstroke… which is why I have a Fit as a DD! (c:

That's good! We've been accruing enough Kroger fuel points to get $1.00 off per gallon for the last several fill-ups. Of course, the SuperDuty truck has priority using those with a typical fill-up of 35 gallons (max allowed discounted) of diesel. Back when diesel got up to $4.59/gallon, we had a $160 fill-up. The Fit has sure changed that. Our average price per gallon has been $1.89 with an average fill-up of $16.96. :D

I have a lifted F150 FX4 so I know the other end of the spectrum. This little car blows my mind.

It blows me away whenever I fuel up this little car! Took me 3 or 4 fill ups to figure out I don't need to pre-pay $50 for a $20-$25 fill up. Sweet!

I've been driving a truck for 12 years so it's just "muscle memory" to give the attendant $50 just to see the fuel guage register something .... that's a habit I enjoy breaking with my new GK (go-kart)!!!

Price for regular @ the local Sams Club today is $2.60 per gallon. Can't argue with that!

Of course, when I was a kid with a lawn mowing business, I seem to recall $.32 per gallon.

When I was in high school, gas was usually 24.9¢/gallon and a pack of cigarettes was less than that. When the stations had a "gas war," it would drop to 19.9¢/gallon or less. OTOH, I was making less than a dollar an hour. :)

Seems like this Fit is a favorite of those of us who have had the time to accumulate wisdom!

I remember $.23/gallon in the early 1970s when I got my license.

I can remember the huge outcry in the eighties when the price went over one dollar a gallon. There was a big spike in prices when the Iran-Iraq War broke out.

What a nice way of saying that! Have noticed it in many threads. I've owned some memorable and fun small cars in my life, and the Fit is surely the most amazing. It's also right up there with the highest quality products I've owned.

How many of us can remember the "even/odd" rules for filling up your car? That would have been in the early 70's, following some oil embargo initiated by our friends in the Middle East. I was in the Navy at the time, and was a duty driver, so I was able to overcome that problem (I just used the Navy's car for all my errands).

Ah yes, I'd just bought my first NEW car, a '73 VW Super Beetle, right before it hit. :thumbups: (I was in the USAF at the time, but didn't have a Gov't car)
