It's official...love this Fit and the MPG!
Today was the first day I didn't miss my FJ Cruiser :thumbups:
This was my daily commute to work which is 26.2 miles 1 way so 52.4 miles per day. If I can maintain even 42mpg during my drive at $2.79 a gallon for an entire year, that is $3.48 a day in fuel consumption. Based on this same route in my FJ Cruiser at 15mpg with premium at $3.20 that is $11.16 per day. Honda Fit - $3.48 x 5 work days a week = $17.4/week x 52 weeks/year = $904. Divide that by 12 months and that is $75/month commuting to work. FJ Cruiser - $11.16 x 5 work days a week = $55.8/week x 52 weeks/year = $2,901. Divide that by 12 months and that is $242/month commuting to work. At these prices the Fit is saving me $1,997 a year and $175 a month. I don't even want to throw in maintenance numbers HAHA! https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...031b75c04ebe09 |
Agreed. My previous car I was getting about 23mpg maximum. I'm glad I didn't buy a hybrid as the savings with the sticker price and the great Fit mpg means I saved so much money overall.

Same here. I looked at Prius but after looking at their sticker price and MPG I saw that a new Fit with it's MPG was a much better choice.
Then I started to think about the 2015 CRV EX (maybe Touring) and eventually the Fit. At the end The Fit is actually a much better deal for me and love the MPG for a non-hybrid and plenty of room to haul stuff. Congratz on the car! |

As someone who traded a Prius...they are in a league of their own when it comes to Mpg. 60-70 mpg was easy for a trip, and usually 50-60 for a tank.
The Fit has a higher quality interior, is more flexible with cargo, rides better, has more comfortable seats, and gets somewhere in the 40-50 mpg range for a tank of gas....that is nothing to sneeze at. |
My former car was a '13 Beetle Convertible TDi 6mt, that averaged about 42mpg (my calculation). My Fit EX CVT is probably going to fall in the 38-40mpg range, so it's a bit of a drop, but with the disparity in our area between diesel and gasoline prices, I'm still ahead with anything over about 35mpg.

Nice W3rm, that's some sick milage! Glad you're happy with your fit, can't wait for mine to come in. Did you check yours over for any of those weird little build issues like the rear fender liner near the tires?

Glad you're happy with your fit, I'll have to way till the end of the year or january for mine!
On the other hand, I'm sorry you have to work 52 week per year! Should take a break once in a while.... |

I love it also! it used to take me a quarter tank on my old car to drive to and back from town and now it took 2 squares on the fit!

That's great!
So far I've put over 400 km, mostly heavy rush hour commuting traffic, and getting 6.3L/100km (37.3 mpg) overall, which to me is great (use paddles very frequently, although try not to exceed 4000 rpm). Certainly better mileage than my 5MT Civic. After the break-in period, the mileage may even improve. |
hope they add LED lights during the refresh :D
