Bumper front and rear I seek an idea !!! I remove FIT front bumper. :D |
Really nice job on the hood, spoiler and mirror. Those look hard to get right! Love how it makes the hood have a matte finish.

From the sublime to the ordinary (great mods MysTiC27). We retirees like to "work wonders" with a reasonable level of effort, so any way to expedite that "best hands-on" car wash rates a bid for attention: new hose & new hose wind-up gear! :D

For the rear bumper, the idea comes from this picture! :) I like! |
My LEDs arrived yesterday, so I put LEDs in the interior lights (map lights, dome light and trunk light) as well as the license plate lights. Also installed the Silverstar XZE headlamp bulbs.
Today I'm going to have to drive the car in snow, since I woke up to find 2 inches of lake effect snow on the ground. Yuck! |

I've been wanting a car compass, especially for journeys into the mountains on cloudy days. I shopped briefly, and concluded that choices are limited. Looking at reviews, the BELL 22-1-29008-8A Digital Compass is, by most accounts, a piece of junk. However about 1 out of 5 to 8 reviewers said it works, so I decided to give it a try, available from and returnable to the auto parts shop around the corner. For about $30, I kept a pretty open mind. I tested the 'on' button first, before installing all the sticky attachments, and had to tweak the replaceable battery installation a bit to get a live display. The install was pretty simple, but I took care not to compromise alignment, per the instructions. The final calibration involves driving around 1.5 times in a circle (defunct K-mart parking lot lent itself nicely to this purpose), which had to be done in 40 seconds or less. I tried twice, and as several critics had reported (after returning the compass), could not calibrate. I drove faster on the third try, and BINGO, 40 seconds or less is shorter than I thought! I drove around the neighborhood, and the compass is responsive to a "T", accurate, and in my book, a keeper. The only caveat is that it is a dim display, and as noted by reviewers, often requires scrutiny even with the dim LED night light. Placed right in front of my ceiling map light, no biggie. I honestly thought the installed BELL 22-1-29008-8A Digital Compass might look kind of 'dopey', but I'm OK with the appearance:
Attachment 86769 Display in front of the mirror, battery pack behind, and sensor attached to the windshield. Attachment 86770 I thought the exterior might look a little junky, but not so bad! Attachment 86771 |

Somehow I get a bit of a chuckle picturing you doing donuts in the K Mart parking lot. :rotfl:

Anticipating the final edge of winter's crack, with either a respectable rumble, or as the poet suggests, just a wimper. Then will be the time to wet-sand, buff and polish my winter-protracted paint chip touch-up. Either pictures or an elegy for my new-car paint job will follow in due course. :D

Received the Torklift Central EcoHitch (1.25"). Now I have to put it on.

Looks Great jetto-setto! I definitely tuned into the post that suggested 'a meditative value' in doing the hand-wash. btw I have noticed that folks generally edit over the plates when posting pix. :thumbups:

Thanks buddy, there certainly is! People do the license plate blur a lot, and I've probably done it a few times. Doesn't really seem necessary though.
