2015 EX 6spd - side marker turn signals

I'm interested in adding side marker lights to my fit. I really like the side mirror marker lights on the EX-L but wasn't available as an option on the EX. Has anyone tried adding these and have any tips on doing so? Is it a matter of just installing the lights and plugging them in or does the whole side mirror need to be swapped out? I may just add lights from an S2000 or civic Si if it's too much trouble. If honda is listening, please make side marker signals available on all fit models! It adds to the appearance and is huge safety feature. Thanks!! Any comments are appreciated.

I added the heated side mirrors to my EX 6MT. Couldn't justify the side marker LEDs at the time. Sorta kicking myself now because as you say it adds safety and it looks pretty cool on the car! I'll be doing the same mod once this artic weather ends here in CT.

I too wish they had included this 'side mirror light' as a standard feature.

I do like a leather steering wheel and shift knob but don't like sliding around in leather seats, so I couldn't do the EXL trim level just for the lights.

The leather wheel and shift knob is easily solved.

I did not know that heated mirrors were an option. That has been my only gripe with my car if you call it a gripe.

What is involved?

The Canadian EX has heated side mirrors but no turn signal. I want the side mirror turn signals if the swap is easy enough hopefully!

The American Honda Fit EX 6MT did not come with the option of heated side mirrors. the same issue applies for the turn signal marker on the side mirrors. These two options are only available on the EXL. I had to route the wires myself through the door into the cabin.

In retrospect I kind of wish I had done the side turn signal markers when I had the mirrors apart I will likely do that once the weather gets better its not that hard and I would tap into the turn signal relay.

Check out my thread on pictures and videos of what is involved for installing heated side mirrors on an EX.

Here are the part# you will need for the winker mod. I researched what I needed for my Crystal Black pearl. The winker itself is the same across all models, but the Skull color part# will vary. When you look up the parts you will see the hesitation on my part due to cost. Roughly a 4 hour investment of time but again it can be done. The blinker relay is very straight forward to tap into with a scotch lock. You can get away with 18-22 AWG wire for the LED winker too. Extreme low power.

Again please refer to my main thread for the most details.
