Help! Dealership can't fix open door sensor issue

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice -

I bought a 2015 fit last year and it has been having an open door sensor issue almost since the day I drove it off the lot.

Whenever I drive over a small bump, all of the doors unlock, the interior lights come on, and the car starts beeping. I took it into the dealership FOUR times over the last 6 months and they keep telling me they "fixed" it this time.

My last service was 2 weeks ago and the door sensor has already started malfunctioning. I'm feeling really frustrated that they are unable to solve the issue.

What are my options??

wat did they actually replace? did you ask?

did they just re-program something? sounds like a mechanical failure not software.

Do you have documentation of the four attempts by the dealership to fix it?

Is My Vehicle a Lemon?
In order to be covered by the Illinois Lemon Law, a vehicle must:

have a nonconformity that both substantially impairs the use , market value or safety of the vehicle and is not repairable by the dealer or manufacturer in at least four attempts for the same repair, or

be out of service for a total of 30 or more business days.

The Lemon Law DOES Cover: New Cars (purchased or leased)
Light Trucks and vans under 8,000 pounds
Recreational vehicles (excluding trailers)
Vehicles in their first 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first
Vehicles purchased in Illinois

No offense, but you already know the solution to your dilemma; yet, you come on here acting like you're clueless as to what should come next.

No offense, but you're not adding anything to the discussion so why even bother commenting?

is there another dealer you could take it to?

Do you know from which door the sensors were replaced? Are they both from the same door, or different doors? If different doors it could be possible that the factory received a bad batch of sensors from their supplier and you caught all 4 in sequence (actually 5 for the rear gate) from them.

i also agree to take it to another dealer. it could be the relaxed mentality or atmosphere at that service station causing you repeated visits. some dealers just suck.

Perhaps you could send an email to the service dept of several dealers as well as Honda Corporate explaining the issue to see if by chance someone has either heard of this and/or may have a solution, then take this info to a dealer near you. This may save you several trips. Keep your fingers crossed that you get some responses.

One bad incident (4 attempts) and he should put on his running shoes? If you're so hot for the Mazda, why are you here? It sounds more like an inept dealership/mechanic than a whole line of bad cars.

Was this ever resolved? I have a 2015 with the same issue currently and I'm not taking it to the dealership
