Rear Door Leaks?

So I am taking my '15 fit into the shop today because my back two doors are leaking water in. The rep seemed to have seen this issue before. I know the old gen 1 and 2 fits had this problem. See regular car review's take on youtube. But they are still leaking?? Has anyone else experienced water leaks on your doors?

I had a leak in the left rear door, but only after having the door handle bracket recall done. I had to take it back to the dealer for repair. Apparently the inside door watershield wasn't reinstalled properly. No leaks since the repair.

When hand washing the car I wasn't terribly impressed by the Fit's way of draining water. There's the two plastic strips running along the roof and where one of mine meets the piece continuing down along the side of the windshield there is a 1/8" gap on one side. Perfect for all the water running down the roof to channel under that second strip and end up who knows where inside the car body. I don't know if that's enough to take it back under warranty or if I should just take some silicone sealant and seal the gap (stupid to have to do that on a brand new 2016).

Everything coming off the the top of the car seems to be channeled through rubber channels, then rubber tubing, and from there down the inside of the car panels. My other car had metal channels along the side of the roof. I don't know how long that rubber will last and if one will be trying to find some specialized replacement at full Honda prices in a decade or so. Living in a place where they salt the roads in winter I am not looking forward to that salt spray running down the inside of the car panels.

After a few hours at the dealer, that is exactly what my problem was too. I had the door handle recall done and they said the watershield wasnt reinstalled right.

Regards water entering the body from the roof seams: This is not only a problem seen on Hondas. If you see a crack, seal it with WINDSHIELD sealer, a flowable type of clear RTV. This will penetrate the crack and flex with the body...
