Rear trunk cargo cover

Hi I need some help.

I need a rear trunk cargo cover for my FIT 2015 hybrid. The problem is that my car trunk is not fitted with the two side rails to support the cover like with other FIT. Check my car trunk photos and the trunk available for Honda FIT.

Any advice on how to sort this out?

The two side panels can be removed. Make custom rails and attach the rails from the inside. Then reinstall the two side panels. Does Honda sell the two side rails?

get rear tint and a black drape or table cloth or something black to cover ur valuables when needed. it works much better than the cargo cover and you have full access to your cargo space. those cargo covers take up too much room.

I have a collection of airlines "blankets" that I have borrowed from a few international flights. They come in handy to cover up valuables or used as drop cloth to prevent luggage from scratching the car.

What's that panel on the right side of the trunk area for?

Frustratingly maybe I realize this isn't really an answer.
But if you really want a trunk cargo cover and aren't receptive to the idea of window tint or blankets, then I would think you have to become something of a Pioneer.

I would think "Something" could be created using cardboard, plywood, or other materials and careful experimentation.
But given the relative uniqueness of a Honda Fit Hybrid, if nothing has been created on the commercial level, and it looks like Honda did not put cargo cover in the design, then it's really all up to the DIY skills of yourself.

Maybe not a great answer.

Even though the transferable process would NOT be the same, there might still be benefit it seeing how other have made cargo covers for their regular "Fits".
That is in creating templates and material choices.

Since no place to really attach or lay...I'm almost thinking something light enough to be suspended using perhaps velcro. It would almost have to be a "Visual Blocker" only.

But good luck.
If you come up with anything decent, let us know.

Exactly what I did. Made a frame from wood strips. Glue and poster board from a hobby shop. Honda's is way over priced and it should come with the car. Anyway, mine came out better than I thought it would. May cover it with something soft at some point, but for now it gets the job done.

Get some Black Styrofoam and cut your own. I have some black 1.5" stuff that I used to insulate a Hangar door. I picked it up from Michigan Foam Products which is a place that manufactures it in Grand Rapids, MI.

For as little as you need you could probably get a sample. One 2x8 sheet would be enough to make several of them or for several tries at making one good one.

Like others have mentioned, a DIY solution is very economical. I made mine for less than $30. You can see some pictures here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...ick-intro.html

I thought about getting fancy and using a retractable window shade. Have it mounted on the HB and connect it to the back of the headrest posts. Figured the HB could be opened and the cover would stretch out while it lifted. Since the rails weren't just straight, the had curves I nixed that idea. For you without the rails, maybe it's something you could look at.

HomeMade Cargo Cover

Total cost: about $30 (includes 2 test prototypes ) May cover it with something soft at some point.

Hi,

I'm having this same issue. I bought the Cargo Cover and those plastic supporting side rails seems to be missing on my Hyrbid Fit. Did you ever find a solution? I'm thinking of putting in some kind of peg to hold it but not sure how to secure it through that felt.

you can try pulling up diagrams and sift through images and try to find that piece

(I took a quick glance, and was not able to find the 2 side pieces)
