This wing is suppose to provide down force to the rear wheels, right? The Fit is a front engine and front wheel drive car, so a down force to the rear wheels would only decrease traction of the front wheels, which will lead to less acceleration and less speed. Or, is it for aerodynamic effect, or just for looks?

FWD cars prepped for racing in touring car classes often have wings, and that's not an environment where they care about looks at the expense of performance. A lot of production cars have aerodynamic lift at high speed, and that will reduce grip in high speed corners. Of course, a race car will have balanced downforce at front and rear, so you get the big front splitters and such, and there's not a huge amount of actual downforce until you reach maybe 90mph unless you're running an exceptionally large wing and splitter, but it's a bit too simple to say there's no point on FWD.
