apparently these aren't plug and play and requires drilling and covering some areas with extra gromets. I dont think its that difficult, but i obly know of one owner in US (cali) who installed one. Looks good, but dont know how i feel about drilling holes into the car

This wing is suppose to provide down force to the rear wheels, right? The Fit is a front engine and front wheel drive car, so a down force to the rear wheels would only decrease traction of the front wheels, which will lead to less acceleration and less speed. Or, is it for aerodynamic effect, or just for looks?

It provides zero down force probably the way it's mounted and at the speed we drive these cars. It's basically just for looks.

so you think the wing on new Civic type R didn't serve a purpose?

Spoilers just don't help with keeping the back wheels down, I agree its just look on our cars unless you have some power. The wing on a FWD car can also help with corning.

FWD cars prepped for racing in touring car classes often have wings, and that's not an environment where they care about looks at the expense of performance. A lot of production cars have aerodynamic lift at high speed, and that will reduce grip in high speed corners. Of course, a race car will have balanced downforce at front and rear, so you get the big front splitters and such, and there's not a huge amount of actual downforce until you reach maybe 90mph unless you're running an exceptionally large wing and splitter, but it's a bit too simple to say there's no point on FWD.
