trying to replace spark plug

hey guys,

i unplug the electrical connection, remove the boot, i have a 9/16"/14mm spark plug socket, but there is this circular silver looking thing thats preventing me from putting the socket in.

Am i missing something? are there other parts i need to remove? or do i just need another tool?

Thanks in advance

I ran into the same problem. I gave up and traded the car in. lol
If anyone is a honda tech, maybe they can pitch in their 2 cents.

Pictures would probably help to diagnose your problem. Post a quick picture of the part that is blocking the spark plug.

which part?

it's not blocking the spark plug, its when i pull out #1 as per evil's picture, and try to put my spark plug socket in to remove the spark plugs, it looks like there is a stainless colour circular thing preventing my socket from entering and reaching the spark plugs. I'll post a picture when i have a chance to open the car up.

I think what you need is a 14mm thin wall spark plug socket.
