Possible to change info/radio system to newer?

I have a 2015 LX, would be interested in having android auto. If someone is selling a sport model radio for some reason in the future does anyone know if the wiring would work with the 2015 LX? Do you have to change an plastic or mechanical parts to swap?

If I were engineering this I would have basically made it drop in electrically so that would be my hunch. Don't know how common such a part would be available used though.

You would be better going aftermarket to get android auto if you are dead set on it. You cannot swap say a 2018 EX head unit into a 2015 LX. Lots of tech issues why so I'll spare the details.

Having an LX means you dont have any compatability issues with the lanewatch camera for example. You might lose the trip computer and if you have the backup camera, you will lose the dynamic backup boundary lines when you move the steering wheel.

Bottom line, aftermarket is the way to go

LX doesn't have the dynamic back up lines so I think you're right that going after market is the way to go.
