For instance, if the screen stops working after 10 years, does that mean I won't be able to change the radio station or adjust volume unless I get the screen replaced? Does the screen do anything else that's mandatory where it would need to be replaced no matter what?

Are there any other issues with the 2015?

As a follow up question, not sure if this should go in a different subject, but is there a list anywhere comparing the different model years or generations? If I could save $5k on a 2010 instead of a 2015, that might be worth it. But will I be missing out on a lot of nice features, technology, safety, etc? I know I can go through and read the specs of every model year and compare them for myself, but I'm not very knowledgeable and if a comparison already exists it would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

This is EXACTLY why I went and got a ge8 again instead

Volume knob on the steering wheel. Problem solved! 😉

Doesn't bother me at all. The volume controls on the steering wheel are closer to me, anyway.

Lack of a physical volume knob doesn't bother me.

I just wish I had a play/pause button on the steering wheel.

hasnt been annoying at all. i mainly use the steering wheel control though.

volume doesn't bother me, but what does is not having a control on the wheel to move around any of the screens. I use a USB stick for audio and trying to navigate that is a royal pain while driving.

Everyone says use the steering wheel, but nobody has said how completely terrible the implementation and button layout on the steering wheel is.
They wasted a ton of space, and what you can do is extremely limited.

Volume adjustment, yes.
Everything else, no.

You can Seek and Scan forward and back, change the Source, jump tracks forward and back (CDs)..........

I'm finding the touch screen MUCH easier to use, even for an old coot like myself. I never could get the hang of the "multi function knob" on my GE. You had to press the center button to find the correct function, then quickly begin scrolling or it would default back to the volume function.

Six years with the GE, and I never could figure out how to work that radio properly. Two days with the GK, and I have it mastered. Love a menu driven system.

No problem with mine at all. I bought an LX. Perfect.

You should take it for a test drive and find out how it feels for you. I have no problem with doing everything from the steering wheel.
