Swapping stock tweeters on 2015 Fit

Hey guys, I’ve swapped out all 4 speakers and am running them through the stock HU with the AudioControl LCQ1 processor. I have a pair of Infinity reference 275tx tweeters I’d like to wire in, which I believe I can just splice in since the stock tweeters are passively wired in already.

I’m confused because the stock tweeters are attached to the inside of the grill and have a mini wire harness attaching them rather than bare wires. Has anybody switched these out? If so, how did you get around this design to remove the tweeters and get your new ones in? I’m stumped.

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom,

Matt

The stock tweeters are spliced off of the front door speakers.

right, I understand that. What I’m referring to is how the tweeters are attached to the grill so I’m just not sure how I’d get them out of there. I can post a pic later

You pry the plastic clips that surround the tweeters a bit and they'll pop right out.

Crutchfield suggests using an index card and a Flathead screwdriver and prying around it. The indeed card to protect the dash.
