If I had to guess, I would say I have at least an extra 150lbs or more in sound deadening. It does not affect my fuel mileage at all since I kept meticulous records.
I have to admit, that I have probably added almost same amount by having trailer hitch and full size spare. I would be glad to take off some weight, but that's never so easy. Maybe lighter alloy wheels.
It is genuine Honda Jazz accessory 08MLW-UTI-RRBAG Rear Armrest Bag. Described in the accessory catalog as follows:
The armrest bag can be stored in between the two rear seats. It includes an inner cooling bag for food and drinks, two cup holders, two side pockets and a front pocket with zipper. The bag contains an additional hand carry handle for extra practicality. Honda smart luggage offers an intelligent storage solution which allows you to be more comfortable in your car. Its black and grey design matches the interior of your car. The armrest bag is made out of sturdy material and with its secure fixation it lives up to the Honda quality.
We had a family parliament meeting where we read through the accessory catalog and decided what to get. Kids selected this armrest bag and the tablet holder.
Thank you for your great purchase and photos.
Really like your accessory.
Question is this a doable updrade to my Salvage 2020 Honda Fit LX?
Can i purchase this accessory for the LX and make it fit?
Thank you
Douglas
The rear armrest bag fits to any GK Fit/Jazz. Maybe even to older generations. It's just put there on the middle seating position and secured by the seatbelt.
Thank you again.
Just love your story too much.
Found the bag i can purchase. Thank you
Now i need the part number for your wheels and center console.
I need to do some shoping thanks to you.
Good day.
Douglas
Do you mean
- original factory mounted wheels or the Honda accessory winter wheels?
- original center console with armrest or the open one I purchased?
Thank you, TnTkr
Excellent answer to me.
1.Not sure about a Winter Wheel and suppose i do not need it. I live in Inland Empire, Sunny and warm California
So looking to replace My standard wheels on my Lx.Looking for 15 inch spoke mag wheels. Saw your beautifull wheels with the part number. But i understand that is not for me. Just looking the same just not winter wheels.
2. so, i have the standard center console with armrest. Saw your photo without armrest. still excited about the part number and how to purchase.
Thank you.
crabbman,
1. The original black factory wheels are 16" with part number 42700-TAR-E91. The accessory wheels, which I use with winter tyres are 15" and the part number is 08W15-T5A-601A
2. The center console without armrest is 83452-T5A-003ZA, and it requires additional parts 83445-T5A-000 and 83442-T5A-003ZA. I ordered those from JDM Yamato. See the parts diagram #7, #6 and #5. <https://jdmyamato.com/products/nhp00...42999104143608>

Good day
Crabbman
Normally I always use an electric block heater and interior heater to pre-heat the car before start. This mornig I had an urgent need to go immediately without any pre-heating, and it happened to be quite cold, -27 °C (-17 °F). It's long time I've had to do it, and never with my GK5. I didn't remember how it feels to drive a chunk of ice. The average fuel consumption during first 2 km (1-1/4 mile) was 27 l/100 km (8.7 mpg).
Couple of weeks ago I got this infamous multiple warning lights phenomena while starting the hot engine. I was of course worried, because I've red so many threads about faulty fuel injectors and other costly problems. However, it appears that I was lucky, and it was just a loose battery terminal connection. Propably untightened in the last annual service. I'll defenitely let the workshop know what they forgot.
It seems it was too early to make a conclusion. After a longish highway drive in a hot day I stopped to fill the tank. The engine started fine, but after couple of seconds stopped abd showed all the same warnings. And didn't start anymore. We took a taxi to home and prepared to tow the Jazz to a dealer workshop, but when we were back after an hour or so, it started fine. Anyhow I drove it straigth to the dealer, and it's now there waiting for diagnose.
I have forgotten to update the issue with warning lights and starting problem. In early September the problem occured again, and it didn't start even after cooling down. When the fault was active, the dealer could diagnoze the problem to the low pressure fuel pump in the tank. Good thing was that there was a campaign meaning all the costs were covered by Honda. Bad thing was that the new pump was not readily available. I had to wait for three months for the pump to arrive and get mounted. Luckily I have other (older) cars, which could be used while my Honda was standing in the dealer's backyard.
That time also reminded me how nice the older cars are. No annoying, distracting systems and warnings. The only reason to have newer car as daily driver is that I don't want the old cars to rust on salty winter roads. And the spare part availability (sic!).
Original summer tires are now worn close to legal limit, and I decided to try Yokohama ES32D tires next. But before that I'll keep my winter tires as long as they last next summer.
I had my GK5's annual service done today. I asked the garage to service the air-conditioning as well, because after the winter the cooling felt even less effective than it normally has been. It appeared that in six and half years from the date of manufacturing the system has lost two thirds of the refridgerant. It's quite natural, but I assume it makes a difference.
Nowadays warnigs against filling the tank until filler opening can be red in many places. Based on my experience, I would say it is probably depending on the specific design of the tank breather system, and most likely the risk is exaggerated. I have had my GK5 for five years and I always fill it until the fuel surface is visible. And no problem whatsoever.
Of course I have done the same way already for decades, but GK5 is the first one with closed tank breather system.
I want to share my preferences for ventilation settings based on my experience.
Most of the time I want airflow both to the windshield and to feet. Turning the knob from the detent slightly more to clockwise as shown in the first picture is least noisy in higher fan speeds.
Turning a bit more clockwise as shown in the second picture, you can hear the sound of a microswitch, which disables the auto start-stop system. And you still get some air to feet.
