why not just leave the OEM cat & not pollute needlessly for a 2 whp gain (if that)?

I originally was going with j's racing for mine, but pricewise wasnt a deal AND the "no EGR " style wasn't that appealing because of the fact that on the GK5 at least, there will be no code unless you eliminate the EGR.... and the RV6 catted version won't really affect HP's or TQ's #'s...since is a free flow magnaflow cat....

pass smog? heck no!

in the case of my wrx, I have to remove the catted down pipe, pass smog/pass visual inspection, and then reinstall my downpipe. this is something I do every 2 yrs. thankfully, I have a good cast of san diego locals that are always willing to help me wrench on the subie.

SO .... the topic of an Electronic Throttle Controller came about... and this something I never thought I'd buy. It always came across as a gimmick .... but thanks to the magic of amazon's return policy, I decided, what the heck. Worse case, if it doesnt work I could easily return it right?

I wont get into the obvious stuff, as most of you are intelligent enough to google FAQ's on it. Here are my brief findings I'd like to share:

-Pedal Response = HUGE/Noticeable Diff! No more strange lag/delay when you step on the gas pedal
-Over All Performance = It does not increase HP, as google will tell ya. But the car over all does feel faster due to the immediate response after stepping on gas pedal
-Easy to install. Should the need to remove it arise, easy to uninstall as well
-Expensive = Indeed, it is not cheap. But if you compare it to a $200+ Intake that barely makes a difference the driver will "notice", this Throttle Controller in that sense is a better buy.
-So far I've only played with the "CITY" mode, I'll report back later when I get more hours on the SPORT and SPORT+ modes

Another thing that's great about MI. No testing!

evil- those throttle voltage multipliers are cool. i had it on a few of my previous cars where drive by wire was just so lagging and that quickly improved the overall throttle response.

no new mods to report. the last few days, and next few days will be invested testing out that pedal commander/throttle controller

also, ever since I installed coilovers I'm getting alot of clunky noises from my front. I think its the adjustable end links as everything else has been tightened down, and re checked a 2nd and 3rd time, and re tightened a 2nd/3rd time. I will be testing out diff lengths to see if it shows any signs of improvement

for now, enjoy this wonderful thursday

I had a 1993 Saturn SC2; I fabricated a custom exhaust manifold and boosted it with a T25 turbo. Trust me, it's not worth the effort. Yeah it's cool that I can say "I did that" but in the end it was more hassle than it was worth.
