Eibach Pro-Kit Installed
 
Just wanted to share pictures for anyone thinking about lowering their Fit. I installed the Eibach Pro-kit in about 2 hours. The install was simple and I like the results.

The ride is harder than stock but it doesn't bounce around and does not bother me. Handling is noticeably better.

The black wheels are 17x7+43 Enkei RPF1s with 205/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sport 3+...and the OP took them off due to slight rubbing in front, combined with loss of 10mpg (46-36) on the highway....

That was true, but I caved and put them back on. I ended up rolling the fenders to deal with the rubbing and sucked up the 10 mpg. I also just moved to the Midwest where it is flat so my average mpg is now at 41.

if you went from 17s to light weight 15s (under 10 lbs) ..... would that 41 mpg go up +10 mpg?

The best mpg I get is from my white Sparco wheels they are 15x6. With winter tires on them. I was averaging 45 mpg with them in my old house. I’ll have to update when I switch for winter.

Since others have asked. I now have 60,000 miles on the springs. The front struts were replaced by Honda under warranty just before I put the springs on. With stock wheels this setup is perfect. They give the car a nice look, sharp response, and are not too harsh. When I switched to the Enkei RPF1 wheels (17x7 43 offset) I encountered some rubbing issues in the front. I ended up rolling the front fenders to take care of the rubbing issue. Since then I have not had any major issues. The camber is off at the rear and you cannot do anything about it. It’s not terrible but the insides of your tires will wear first. I have had five adult males in the car and not had issues bottoming out. Nothing has come loose. I torqued everything when I installed and checked again 100 miles in. Bottom line would I do it again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes.

so 60k on the springs, and about 60k on the front oem struts.... how are those struts doing?

how about the rears, how many miles on the shocks back there? and, have they held up well?

Ride quality really depends on the wheels. I love it with all the sizes but there is definitely a difference.

With 15x6 winter tires
Comfort 10/10
Handling 8/10
Performance 9/10
Convenience 10/10

With Stock 16 inch EX wheels
Comfort 9/10
Handling 10/10
Performance 9/10
Convenience 10/10

With Enkei’s 17x7
Comfort 7/10
Handling 10/10
Performance 10/10
Convenience 10/10

the car is just over 100,000 miles and the rear shocks are original. There is no banging or play in the suspension both front or rear.

KUDOS for breaking it up further with three different wheels sizes.
Definitely a project for my GK LX in 2019.

It is not that difficult a job to do with the right tools. Make sure you have a good spring compressor. The springs are not under as much pressure as some cars but I still treat a compressed spring like a live bomb. When taking off the sway bar linkage you can raise the front wheel knuckle to take tension off the threads. This makes it a lot easier. If you torque your bolts correctly you should be good just check them again in 20-100 miles. Take care around the brake line. These are all tips for the front brakes. For the back it’s simple place a jack in the center of the car and raise the rear arm up, undo the two lower bolts then lower the jack and the springs should fall out. To replace the dampers in the rear lower the back seats, pull straight out on the trunk tray holders and the lining should unclip. Then you have one but to remove. Last tip is to make sure your car is properly stabilized before you get under it. It’s not worth dying. Again, it’s really not that hard these tips might make it easier.

reasons for edit: it’s 10:40 I just got home from a 14 hour day of work and should be sleeping so my brain made some mistakes. There are probably more.
