tanabe strut tower brace

was reading some posts on the tanabe tower brace from a while back . the last post mentioned that it appeared that the mounting plate now blocked
access to the fuse box cover , can anyone verify this ?.if that's the case , it does'nt sound like a very practical mod

Yup. It does block the fuse cover. Takes me a few minutes to remove that side of the brace to access the fuses.

thanks for the heads -up , looking at the pictures i still can't figure out what it's attached to . so far , i've got 2 subframe braces under the front and
2 braces in the back ( one across the bottom in front of the beam axle and the other across the rear upper seatbelt mounts ) they work wonders
for the feel of the car

Save your money and spend it on a Progress rear anti-sway bar instead of the Tanabe strut bar. It's a much better, and effective, mod.

i would pass on the rear sway bar (makes your car drive like 2 separate pieces) and start with the front sway bar on the Fits. the car leans too much and loses posture while turning. then get a LSD.

i have a blox swaybar for the front ,but haven't put it in in yet , pretty much looks like i have to drop the subframe to get it in so right now it's winter and i'm not in a rush .
it probably would make a big difference i'm sure .and no , the car doesn't loose it's posture while turning , it's rather composed , i'd say . the braces on the car do alot for
roll stiffness

It's an FF car. If you want to make it rotate "better," you'll want to stiffen up the rear end.

Definitely this. Even with traction control off, it's tough to get to slide around tight corners.

been looking at the various pictures of the tanabe tower brace , so , you really do have to undo the mounting bracket to access the fusebox ?

just re-installed mine last night after getting the car back from the shop. If you can see on the driver side, the bracket is blocking entry to the fuse box. Not a big deal to remove if need be! So go buy it! 😎

Bringing this back from the dead.....just bought one and just figured out that this bar mounts to the thin sheet metal.....I'm quite disappointed at Tanabe. This will provide only looks over anything....

that's right. The front strut bar does nothing practical at all.

There is a matching lower front brace also. It's on my future purchase list.
