OEM inserts are the best. They last years and you get to keep the original wiper arms. I've tried Michelin, advance Auto specials, Bosch, and the OEMs are the longest lasting.

Just my .02

I usually just run by their service counter and buy them outright. Usually walk away 28 dollars poorer but then I go three years before seeing them again.

Hmm...
In my experience Bosch Icon wipers....the whole assemblies, are a very good product, and assuming you bought the right size, should be easy to install. Actually easier than I think, trying to slide on new inserts.

But basically whatever works for you.
Sometimes when I've purchased inserts at a dealership, they have been nice enough to install them for free.

I had a pair of Bosch Icons that lasted me three years. That was a little over 100k miles of crap I have put them through. Upon replacement, I was at a store that didn't have Icons, so I settled for some random Michelin wipers.

If I really didn't need the wipers that day, I would've waited for another pair of Icons. The Michelins aren't cutting it.

Yeah, I kind of disagree with the blanket statement that OEM inserts are the "best".
On my 2016, the OEM wipers were from day one, almost useless.
I originally replaced with Bosch wipers, and they were very good.
Like you, I replaced my Bosh this year with Rain-X wipers, and they have not been as good. They are already dragging. I might even replace them now. But I'm certainly NOT going into next Winter with them.

Basically however I think people over think wipers. Whatever works is OK.
On mine?
The OEM blade assembly and wipers sucked. I was forced to try aftermarket wipers.

If OEM inserts work for you? I think it's a fine option.
Basically you just want something that keeps your windshield clear. Hopefully consistently and quietly.

I usually get Bosch Icons or RainX Latitudes beam blades and either ones last years before you need new ones! I always immediately change from stock wipers to to either the Bosch or RainX Beam blades they are the best ones I ever had and used!

I just picked up a 2013 after my 2008 got smashed on Thanksgiving... I just want to make sure the passenger side is supposed to have that strange angle? And is there a small gap between the driver and passenger paths so that a small area low on the passenger side is missed by both blades? Or did the car lot put the wrong size on there?

Yeah, it's supposed to be like that.

For reference, the passenger side is 14", driver side is 28" - a very odd combo if you're not used to it.

I just invested in oem and they are very nice units. Refills for all three are like $25 at the local honda dealer. Same for Toyota/Lexus. For a number of years Toyota wipers were actually ranked highest on consumer reports.
