'12 front brake upgrade question about parts
clearly im an idiot, but i cannot find which calipers/rotors and pads for the front brake upgrade. as far as i remember it was the type r teg from 95...or 99? the 08 mini cooper rotors and would the same type r pads for the rotor most likely go with it or just gsr or si em1 pads?
any help or the link to probably the first 12 of these would be appreciated, cheers

Here's my list of compatible pads and rotors that I've used for my GE8, hope this helps.
Confirmed compatible front brake pads (with stock calipers):
Confirmed compatible rotors (stock calipers):
Here's my research when I was planning upgrade to ITR calipers:
FRONT
Confirmed compatible front brake pads (with stock calipers):
- CR-Z
- Civic SI (94-04)
- Del Sol (all models)
- RSX (02-04) (base model)
Confirmed compatible rotors (stock calipers):
- Integra (90-93)
Here's my research when I was planning upgrade to ITR calipers:
FRONT
- ITR Brake Calipers
- 280mm Mini Cooper Front Rotor (regular Cooper, not the S)
- 04-08 TSX Brake Pads
- JDM RS rear axle
- Calipers: RSX (Type-S or base) EP3 or ITR calipers.
- Rotors: EP3 SI 4x100 rear rotors
thank you so much, id found for about 500 bucks you can get a rear disc swap of all new parts and no removal from the second vehicle so i think thats gonna do it for me, some companies had them for like 800 which is silly business...not that 500 is much better, but for the parts its a whatever situation. thanks again and the itr youre speaking of is it 96-01 or early 90s..or were they the same?
To be honest... I find that there isn't much of a benefit from going rear disc other than the ease of servicing the rear brakes and having a much wider range friction materials to choose off the shelf. That and the additional weight of the conversion is somewhat debatable... More or less a draw in my book after doing a 2002/2003 EP3 SI spec rear disc conversion and autocrossing with the OE GD3 calipers and using Carbotech pads and StopTech rotors.
As for the front OE vs ITR/RD1 CR-V Caliper (<--- link with year ranges), you will be seeing a softer brake pedal due to the larger fluid volume required to move that caliper's piston plus you'll be getting the additional weight of those calipers, the R56 Just-A-Cooper rotors and TSX pads. A master cylinder swap is recommended if you want to alleviate that softer pedal... I believe the recommendation was a 2000 to 2002ish Accord V6 with out VSA but I'm not 100% certain behind that tidbit of info. Also, if you're looking to run a 15 you might have to do some digging around to find what wheel will clear the calipers unless you don't mind spacers or shaving the caliper slightly.
Do keep in mind, this post was not intended to debunk or sway you from wanting to do the ITR front conversion and a rear disc conversion. Its just to highlight some areas that people don't often mention or think of during the conversions.
Even with that said, I've seen that a good set of pads, rotors, and making sure the drums are adjusted properly on a Fit tends to go a long way. Even the B-Spec folks running GE and GKs on road courses are still running factory sized discs and drums but with of course a friction material change. Just something to keep in mind.

it makes sense, but the track near me has quite a bit of straights and the k24 puts out quite a bit more power than the l15...more than double so stopping at certain points is needed as after maybe 2 laps they dont work that well and the pedal doesnt even move nor seem to slow the car down from 140+ when theres a 300y turn
