2010 Sport - Trade in, sell, or fix?
I have a 2010 sport with 115,000 on it, in Honda service right now. I have a decision to make, and I need some help. Im 71 and my husband is 75 (homebound with Parkinson’s).
I’m scared I’m going to make the wrong decision.
Service is quoting $1,600-2,000 for repairs. Battery, oil change, 2 new tires, antilock brake sensor, 1 wheel bearing replaced, 2 new keys (only have one and it’s broke), fan for a/c and heat, and few others I can’t remember.
My question is, do I put that money into it and then trade it in, trade it in BEFORE repairs, sell it myself before/afed repairs, or have only important repairs (not everything) and keep it?
What would you do? Pros and Cons for the above choices?
Thanks so much in advance.

In general I often tend to be for keeping the car. Your Fit has relatively low mileage, so it the overall condition is good, it has no signs of rust and if you are happy with car, I would suggest to make all repairs done. Then it's all good to go again, and the car will serve you for many years. Every needed repair you mentioned are quite normal maintenance, there is nothing major.
If you decide to make just part of the repairs, you are letting the overall condition to detoriate, and you'll never have a fully working and reliable car.

Not sure about your location in regards to rust. Any chance you're in Baldwinsville, NY? I used to live in Syracuse.
If so, unless you've been very diligent about keeping your car clean (especially the undercarriage) there's a good chance you have rust issues which will affect the lifespan of your Fit and influence whether you want to repair and keep it.
1) Get a second opinion on the condition of your car (e.g., rust) and an assessment of what repairs and maintenance you need, preferably from a trusted independent mechanic. As the previous poster said, the repairs you describe are normal, but they're also pretty easy to do on a Fit and you'll likely get them done for (much) less at an independent mechanic. The only issue you've outlined that might be best performed by the dealership is the new keys. Ask coworkers or friends where they take their cars and how they like their mechanic. Ask the mechanic the same questions you asked at the of this post. Ask them what they would recommend you do if you were their mother.
2) Speaking more generally, based on the decreased mobility I see in my parents (69 and 70), and the fact that they've transitioned from cars to a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid which they find much easier to get in and out of, you might consider whether your Fit is still the best car for you. I'm pretty limber but after finishing back-to-back 10+ hour days in our 2010 Fit Sport returning 1250 miles from family Christmas I was having a bit of trouble getting in and out.

2 new tires (Wal-Mart) $65 each plus mounting/road hazzard another $28 each (Achilles ATR Sport High Performance Tire - 195/55R16 87V)
Synthetic oil change $39 (groupon)
Replaced the ac/heater fan with a unit from Amazon for $33, and it's 3 bolts to pull (paid a friend $20 cause I have trouble wedging under the dash) I also have replaced 2 resistor sets for the fan ($12/each)
the wheel bearing and anti-lock break sensor I have no idea about.
Battery's run from $100-250
Seems like you're getting overcharged by your shop, unless there are some other things that you're not listing which are pricey.
