Hello all. I just picked up a 2010 Fit with just short of 17k miles. Looking forward to to learning and sharing information on these cars. I am planning on using it for my 30 mile commute to work each day.
What are people doing that they buy these cars and then just park them? I mean, great for you - and for us who (*raises hand*) bought our Fits used. But I gotta think renting a car when you need one would be cheaper than buying a 15-17K car and just letting it sit in the garage. Odd.

100% agree. The story as told to me, it belonged to an older lady. She was a hairdresser, and had a salon in her home. She passed away, and the car passed onto her granddaughter who immediately traded it in on a new Ford SUV. It has some light scratches and some dings here and there, but interior and mechanically seems in good shape. I bought it from a Ford dealership on Monday evening. Found it on Cargurus believe it or not.

Wow, that even beats mine, which I bought at 21K miles. An old lady owned it; I don't think she ever drove it in the snow. I've quickly packed on an additional 60K miles.... Great daily driver.
Automatic unfortunately, but I’m gonna try to live with it. 🤣
Hey with that few of miles on the clock I would be chomping at the opportunity to own it, even if it were automatic. I've loved my '09 MT since new and at one point owned another '09 AT and while I really like the manual experience you can't beat the convenience of just purring along in drive.
Congrats on the find dude, welcome to the club. Hopefully it's years and years of trouble free motoring for you! After 139k on mine it's been one AC relay, one blower motor fan, five sets of tires, three batteries, and the clutch and brake pedal switches. The brake pedal switch breaking did drain the battery and left me stranded for about an hour while I waited for a jump. Overall it's been very frugal and fuel efficient despite my lead foot tendencies.

Thank you. I hope I can have the same luck that you have had with yours. After reading some of the posts, I’m thinking I need to take a look at my spark plugs. Seems like them loosening up is a very likely concern.
If I were you, I would replace them. You don't have the mileage, but many years...
I would also replace all fluids.
I thought about that. The dealership I purchased from ran it through service, but who knows what that means. All of the fluids look good, but I’m planning to run through everything this weekend.
If it wasn't a Honda (Acura) dealership, who knows what they put in there? They don't have much of an incentive to visit a Honda parts desk to get the right stuff. I'd change out, too.

Agree. Doing a full maintenance will give you peace of mind and a fresh start.
Off The Top Of My Head:
plugs
air filter
engine oil and filter
clutch and brake fluid
coolant
inspect the drive belt
inspect tires
inspect brake pads and drums
inspect struts and shocks
wheel alignment
I don't know anything about automatic transmission maintenance, so you'll have to ask someone else
inspect for rust
inspect hoses
inspect CV boots
Do you have the PDF of Honda Fit Service Manual? It's available here on Fitfreaks.

Thank you sir! I appreciate that. I’m going to Honda this afternoon to pick up Honda specific stuff. Everything looks great so far, but I’m definitely giving a once over.
Came back to say, there's probably a mechanic somewhere who would throw their wallet at you to have that Fit.... Just because of their reliability, durability and fuel economy.
