Purchased: Weapon*R Street Headers

Well, I couldn't find much info on these, but going by reviews on the racing headers, and reviews of the DC ceramic headers I decided to bite the bullet and be one of the few that I've seen on this forum with the Weapon*R street headers. Didn't see much info from the manufacturer and one guy in that thread said he had them but didn't give much of a review. Ordered them about 30 minutes ago but they'll be coming from CA to CT so I prob won't see them until Saturday or Monday.

Going by pictures looks like the Weapon*Rs should flow pretty well, expect this thread updated with pictures and a good review sometime next week.

I like the looks of the design too, but haven't been able to get any info on it. The website write-up is wrong, and Weapon R seems to have stopped monitoring the forum. Would you please measure the tubing ID?

Thanks,

So my intake came today and I figured while I was messing around in the engine bay I was gonna take off the heat shield in preperation for the new headers. Somehow I stripped the bolt way on the bottom, any suggestions on what to do? I don't want to but I'm guessing I'm just going to have to take off the two top bolts and kinda pry it off. My family mechanic refuses to work on it since it's a 2007. Went to Midas and they told me $200 plus tax to put on some damn headers so I walked out.

It usually helps to soak the bolts on something like this. Spray them with penetrating oil and wait a while. Since it is not going back on I have resorted to the Dremel with a cutting disk rather than prying.

Good luck,

My Fit has been running without a heatshield since like 3000miles. Hahah. I dont even know where it went. Glad someone bought the damn header. Only thing I noticed in the pics is that the primary pipes look a little big. Could just be the pics?

As for the bolt, maybe cut it off with a flat header and hammer? Like a chisel...

I tried the chisel thing today, even sharpened one down to an extremely sharp point, I got it stuck a little but there's no room to really whack it. I poked around a bit and I guess I'm just gonna have to take off the top two bolts and fold it forward so I can access the bolts for the header, then from underneath I can take off the bolts where it connects to the downpipe since it appears that the headshield attaches to the header itself.

Mx6gt89 have you had any problems running without the heat shield? I may just find some good heat wraps and do that but I don't want any wires melting with the heat shield off.

Found a way to get around the heat shield, with the top two bolts removed I'm able to bend it forward toward the firewall and have access to the bolts on the header. The bolts connecting to the down pipe are accessed from underneath so that's not a problem either. Comes in tomorrow should be able to get pictures and measurements for those who want it. Looking to install it Thursday.

So headers came in today, after sitting through my first class I said "**** it." So my friend skipped out his two other classes and we went back to my house and got started on the headers. Fitment was more or less pretty good, however there was one big issue that I'm not too happy with and that's that the support mount for the headers doesn't align with the new headers. I haven't contacted anyone at Weapon*R about it yet but I intend on doing so. I don't think it's a big problem but hopefully nothing goes wrong because of it.

As you all would know from the second post in this thread I was a dumb ass and ended up stripping one of the bolts to the heat shield. DO NOT strip these bolts I was lucky enough to be able to push the shield up and out of the way a little bit but my hand is completly tore up by having to untorque the bolts and have it hit the razor sharp edges of the shield. That and the stock headers are just about impossible to get out with the shield on.

Here's some pictures, we took a break after getting the old headers out, took about an hour and a half and a second trip to autozone for some PB Blaster so I have no completed pictures since it got dark and started raining.

Here you can see the heat shield still attached, pain in the ****ing ass it was.

This was the most I was able to get the heat shield off.

Close up of the stripped bolt.

Over all, engine and exhaust sounds a bit throatier but not much louder, intake seems to have gained some loudness though, a very noticible change in the way the car pulls, definately not as sluggish. It's a fairly easy process so long as you don't make it so you can't take off the heat shield, we put the new headers in in around 15-20 minutes, with about 2 hours of work to get the stock ones out due to the heat shield not being removed.

You deff need the support bracket. Right now basically the whole exhaust is held on with the header bolts. The head is aluminum.... Bad news over time.

Would you guess that the power comes on any lower than the 3000-3500 people have estimated with the other designs?

Chris at Weapon R said that they are trying to get a dyno done this week and he will post the results.

Seems a little more responsive down low but not anything very noticible. Most of the power is found probably between 4000 and red line

Video - YouTube - Honda Fit with I/H/E

I love stainless steel, turns that beautiful shade of gold with heat, now it matches the manifold cover and my wheels.

Here you can see the fitment issues, luckily there's no leaks.

The Weapon*Rs are more expensive, I was debating this too though. Having the Megan axle-back I was really impressed with the quality for the cost, but I didn't like all those curves in the Megan headers, so I started looking at the higher priced stuff, the DC headers looked good but people were saying the ceramic doesn't hold up too well, found the Weapon*Rs and I loved the design and they looked the most effecient in the sub $400 range. But there's lots of people on here with the Megan headers and as long as you get the new ones with the non leaking O2 bung then the reviews have been pretty good, especially for under $200.

Very nice! How does the power feel when driving around normally and not just way up in the RPM band?

That was my one major complaint with the Megan header...you had to keep it way up in the RPM's and definitely lacked torque while driving around normally.
