if you read the bulletin (someone had a link), they pull up the carpeting
on the driver's side, redo the harness insulation on several of the SRS
wires using new wraps and put everything back together.

i got my notice in the mail today which is weird cause my dealer's
tech mentioned his team did my car before purchase back on 12/6.

he mentioned that the work was done but american honda's database
may not yet been updated. my SA mentioned yesterday (i took my
car in for an alignment since it was lowered) that the workorder was
initiated but the job was not completed.... im not sure who's right
but im not too worried about it. will give it until i go in for my free
oil change in 4-5 months to have them recheck the database.

in the bulletin they list some special wraps (insulators). it's rather overkill.

Safety Recall Notice

Honda Motor Co. has decided that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2008 Fit vehicles. In the salt-belt states, the moisture from a drivers wet shoes may penetrate an under-carpet wire harness and cause the passenger side and front air bags to malfunction.

I still haven't gotten one.

So what happens if someone spills an entire drink on the carpet? Is it going to explode?
