2008 Mazda5

we sold our Odyssey and got this one instead.
So far very nice ride, (our first Mazda).. MPG is around 27 (has 800 miles now)
Bigger Trunk, versatile as Fit , handles really well, (like fit) accleration is okay for its size..
comes with auto climate control, 17in alloy wheel, Eltrolumnance gauge, TPMS, etc..
Fit is more cuter... and this one........hum.... Fit in Tux?

I really like that car, I wish more people would realize how much better wagons and small vans are than SUV's. Even "minivans" are not mini at all these days.

Hey congrats!! My wife has a 2007 5 and we love it! My wife and I swore we would not get a minivan despite having 2 kids so we feel this is a good compromise. Where else can you get a vehicle with sliding doors, manual transmission and handles like a proper sports sedan. America just does not appreciate this type of vehicle and it is a shame. Luckily Mazda placed expectations low and have met their numbers to justify keeping it here. The 5 is one of those automotive jewels that the average American just passes over. This is a driving enthusiast family hauler. Though the Honda Odessy is really nice it is just SO BIG! I just slap a cargo box and my bike racks on the top of the Mazda if the rear runs out of room. We had ours for a year now and it has been very reliable. The only complaint, which you will find the Mazda forums, is the sliding door can freeze in really cold weatherif you leave enough water in there after washing. Anyway, good luck and good choice!!!...

PS :
We got the same color!:)

It's like a tall wagon based off the Mazda3.

It's an interesting vehicle. It's like a wagon in a way, but also like a van with the 3 row seating and sliding rear doors.

I want a Honda Stream (grin) but we looked at the 5. I'm not a fan of the mini-van doors, but it's more practical than we needed :). Nice choice. That's the same color we were looking at.

Ah yes, the Mazda Premacy. My wife and me want to trade in her 97 Corolla for one of these sometime in the future to use for our baby hauler. You can drop these and make a really stylin' VIP wagon. I've seen some excellent JDM rides like that. If ya' got kids and need a wagon, might as well roll VIP.

those 5's are cool. i was in the market for one 3yrs ago but they didn't
offer side curtain air bags on their initial release... so went with a
legacywgn. the awd is great in the snow on the legacy so didnt look
back.

but my legacy's been acting up lately (only 2.5yrs old  )and i know
5's now come with side air bags, i might look at them again. i can
use the 3rd row seating now that i got 2 little ones. it would be
that or a new odyesse...but a lot more expensive.

can I just tell you guys how pleased we have been with our 5... we were going to get a bigger sedan when our daughter was born a year ago and we happen to go to the mazda dealership just for fun, we test drove the 5 that day and knew that it was the car for our family. it is the perfect vehicle, small, sporty, sharp-looking and with sliding door convenience.

i think many are right in saying that the american public does not really appreciate the tall wagon breed.

P.S. the new year's model has been greatly improved. the new ones have passenger side armrest, rear AC vents, nicer shifter console...our 07 did not have those things. Im still out on the new lights, i think i like the older 3-circle look.
