So for those of you who got aftermarket wheels installed, did the shop use a air wrench or did they use a torque wrench. I hear the air wrench can damage the rotors and some other stuff.

Also, for those of you whose wheel's hub ring diameter did not exactly match up with the car's hub bore size-- did you use hub centric rings? I specifically have Rota Slips with 67.1 mm hub and the tire installation shop I went to said that they required plastic "hub centering rings" in order for them to install the wheels and for the wheels to stay on with stability. However, the place I bought the wheels from said that the hub rings aren't required and that the lugs will center the rims automatically. I ended up buying the hub rings but I have to wait another week to get my wheels/tires installed.

 

i dont use impact guns for my work. i use a facom ratchet
with a flex head and also a thumb ratchet. it's fast enough for me.

i use a torque wrench when tightening the lugs at the very end.

as far as hubcentric rings, it's recommended but not required unless
your wheels vibrate. im currently not using centering rings on my
DR21's. no vibration. remember, our wheels are lugcentric by design.
the hubcentricity is there more for aiding proper alignment when wheels
are mounted. it does however, help reduce vibration on some wheels.
