I thought it best to post this on a new thread as the "carbon parts" one is getting quite large and has lately been focusing on the "cowl scoop", which is progressing.

This post is to test interest in real carbon fiber overlaid fog light housings. I would like to see if there are five to ten who would be interested in either sending their housings in for covering or purchase already completed ones on an exchange basis (core would need to be sent for future overlay). Going with the exchange may be more convenient for many but will no doubt extend deliveries as I would need to get the previous core back before the next one could be started.

Again this post is for the fog light housing, as pictured, and your light would need to be transfered to the new housings.
For the group buy I would be looking at $110.00 for the set, including USPS shipping for US, a little extra for international shipping and you would need to mail your housings back at your expense.
This price would be for plain weave carbon (1x1 as pictured), 2x2 twill and 2x2 carbon kevlar in red / black or yellow / black can be requested for an additional $10.00 per set.

shocked, but hmm, maybe all those people that got those CF lips for their stock sport bumpers would like to accent the piece with the CF foglights.

 

I would be interested in Carbon Fiber side mirrors. I have not seen them yet.

Also if it is an overlay will it change the dimensions of the housing? If so will everything fit back correctly?

It's nice to see there is some interest in the fog housings. I can make covers that go over the existing housing but an overlaid part will typically look better and hold up longer since the edges are fixed to the part the original part backs up the carbon. As far as thickness and interference, this should not be a problem with this part and I will usually try to take this into consideration when overlaying so that no trimming of surrounding parts is needed, or at least very little. Please let me know if there would be more interest in stick on covers rather than overlaying the originals, the prices would be about the same, I just wouldn't need the old housings as a core.

Anyways, they look great, and a non-flash photo would be good to see, so people can see the pattern, a close up is always good to have.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I got busy with the cowl scoop and didn't notice the new post.

I will take some outdoor pics this weekend.
If I have it scheduled in I would typically need the parts 4 or 5 days and probably 2 to 3 days shipping each way for priority mail.

Please NOTE!!!!

tape up, or cover up the holes that are left behind by the fog light covers, either tape them up with heavy duty tape, or don't go over 25MPH...

When you remove them, you will see where the wind/force will be going, those wheels wells don't hold up much against wind.

I know cause when going through Las Vegas, even before I removed the foglights, the amount of wind/force at 120+ MPH blew my wheel well onto the wheel and melted away.

So just a note.
