DIY Password JDM CF Intake Manifold Cover

First DIY write up and an easy one too.

So when I bought the CF cover, it didn't come with a VTEC emblem or the padding that the stock cover has.

Instead of spending more money from passwordjdm I bought the VTEC emblem for $3 with my employee discount instead of $6.05 and the tape was less than $5 from ACE Hardware store instead of $18.25 from Honda.

Materials
1) Narrow Gap Rubber Tape

3) 10mm Wrench
4) Phillips head screwdriver

Instructions
**WARNING** Its best to let the engine cool down a bit to avoid any burns

1) Unscrew the 2 bolts using the 10mm wrench and twist the 2 plastic clips 90* (next to the VTEC emblem) and remove cover

2) Measure how tall and how long each tape needs to be and cut accordingly. Just put the roll of tape alongside with the original and cut same distance. The tape I got was 3/8" thick. For the bottom it was about the same thickness and the upper part it was a little less than 3/4"

3) Towards the bottom of the cover (closest to the front of the car) add 2 strips of measured out tape next to each other.

4) For the upper part of the cover, make cut 4 identical strips of tape. Tape 2 on top of each other so that you have 2 high strips. Now tape those double strips next to each other.

5) This is sorta tricky and wasted alot of my time. So after you put the tape on, simple put the cf cover on the engine BUT MAKE SURE THE SCREWS/HOLES ARE ALIGNED!!! IF YOU PUSH/SHOVE/MOVE THE COVER TOO MUCH IT WILL MAKE THE TAPE FALL OFF!!!

6) Take the 2 screws and tighten until its no longer loose and the two plastic screws just twist 90* in the opposite direction from step 1.

Looks good with my Mishimoto Intake, huh??
The VTEC emblem is coming within 5 days, and I didn't want to pry it off the original so I'll have to run the cf cover without it for a little bit.

Tips
1) Sometimes the glue on the tape couldn't stick well to the cf cover, so use a blowdryer/heat gun to get the tape a little bit hot and it will stick alot better.

2) Be sure to firmly push down on the tape after setting it because the cf cover has little dips/bumps so make sure the glue is sticking into every possible crevice

Mistakes I Made
1) I didn't use the blow dryer the first time, so the tape kept falling off. I had to recut more strips of tape but luckily there was enough to finish the job.

2) Towards the top of the cover, where the two bolts go, the tape was a little bit too thick which lead it from falling off. Try using just one layer but I used 2 just incase.

3) Also towards the top where the two bolts were, its a mound/hill and i used too long of strips which lead me to cut those strips shorter by maybe 1/4" on both sides

Thanks for reading. Like I said this is the first one I've ever did so be gentle with the harsh criticism haha. Any feedback is welcomed, good or bad. Its probably easier just buying the tape from Honda but I don't believe $18.25 for two strips of tape is worth it and spending a extra $5 for the emblem. YOU'LL BE SAVING ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY A MEAL FOR YOU AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND!!!!
