Lightbulb New Video of my 2008 Blue Fit

Here is a video I shot of my new 2008 Honda Fit in Dallas a few weeks ago. I had to make a 30 second car commercial for a video class.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks very much for the compliments! I have a pretty cool series of pictures I took of the FIT as well that I'll try to post.

My friend had a really nice sunroof installed on his FIT that looks amazing. He paid $800 total but that included everything including the dash mounted controls for opening/closing etc. Is this a popular feature upgrade for the FIT?

That's what my teacher said. He suggested I send it in to Honda and see what they say.....I doubt they'd be interested as it doesn't showcase a lot of the interior of the car. But thanks for the compliment! I really appreciate it. I got an A on the assignment. ;-)

You deserve your A+ and I think this commercial rocks. If I were your prof I'd send it to an agency and get you some money for it.

Nice vid and nice camera!

Coming from an visual art's major, I would have liked to see more expression/interaction from the other people in the car, but that's just my critique

What school do you go to in Dallas? Do you know where R.L. Turner is?

Thanks! Yes, I know where R.L. Turner is....Carrollton, right? I go to the Art Institute of Dallas. I would have loved to get more expressions from the people and Lord knows I have plenty of pretty awesome footage of the Fit going in and out of 18-wheelers in Dallas but there were specifications on the video:

1. Had to be 30 to 35 seconds long.
2. Had to be a car commercial.
3. Had to have a sports theme.

So, trying to get those specifications into such a short duration made me cut quite a few nice shots of interaction amongst people in the car. Oh well. Maybe I'll put together another video of the extra footage without a danged time limit!

I used a Sony HDR-FX1. The driving shots were done with the camera mounted on the back of a truck along with some pretty bright lights which I'm sure ticked off a lot of oncoming cars in Dallas. Oh well! I used Final Cut Pro on my MAC to edit the video together.
