I shouldnt have to replace it with anything. The braket broke because its cheap and flimsy. If afe wont replace it then im going to have to weld a thicker braket to it which is a waste of my time and money.

How tight did you screw the bolt on? Looks like it broke around the bolt.

18ft lbs...the problem is the motor moves far enough due to the cheap motor mounts to break it...this was bound to happen even with the rubber backed washer afe sends with it.

Cheap motor mounts aren't to break. The engine's supposed to move a little. Maybe make a new bracket with an oval shaped hole and don't tighten it all the way, so the bracket has some give to it so you won't get another stress crack/break.

"Cheap motor mounts aren't to break." huh?
"The engine's supposed to move a little." no shit...otherwise people would bitch about about shifting and take off....but engine movement changes axle angle and this is bad...
"Maybe make a new bracket with an oval shaped hole and don't tighten it all the way, so the bracket has some give to it so you won't get another stress crack/break" ummm why should i? if afe wont replace it with another heatsheild with thicker braket then im going back to stock intake since aftermarket intakes do nothing but make more noise...

i did this thread to inform people...last time i try to show what will happen to a product people spend their hard earned money on.

AFE is sending a new heatsheild out for me to try...hopefully whatever they changed keeps it from happening again.

I have the intake and love it... The first week the bottom bracket cracked a little. Dont think it broke yet.
Its not a big deal IMO. The intake is under $180. (Got mine for $50 new) You cant expect a whole lot.

I broke both the brackets on my Aspec. Im surprised the coupler didnt rip and me run it over.

P.S. Clean your engine bay.

didnt really care it broke till I noticed it was cutting into the upper radiator hose now that the braket wasnt holding it above it anymore....went back to the stock airbox till the replacement shows up...

oops....my bad artieman, it wasn't the Blitz throttle controller....it was the PRM intake you were fussy about. im not sure if youve checked back with that thread recently...but they dyno'ed the intake and got 5hp and 5lbs from it (im sure results will vary from person to person), not too bad...its supposed to be a really nice intake BTW. anyway, i hope you can fix this issue you have with your intake....hopefully the company listens and sends you a replacement part...OR ya get crafty and fix if yourself.

Cleaned up some of the posts. Clearly artieman is interested in a vendor fix rather than a self-crafted fix (though he is certainly welcome to correct me). Hopefully this thread can focus on that. Leaving an opening for a separate thread on how someone might wish to fix this herself/himself - feel free to post a link if such a thread exists.
