The TONY ad says they have in stock something like 52 Fits.

Craigslist has some used 2007 Fits selling for as little as under $14K

Looks like the supply is way up and the prices are way down from last year.

New 2009 Fit Sport AT from about $16.7K

Windward Honda also listing Fit Sport AT for sale in ad, they didn't have to do that before. Even Honda Civic hybrids from $21K which is low, something like 12 in stock.

I guess the economy is really bad and sales are cruddy.

Americans have short memories, gas prices are down now so we tend to look at the better more performance or luxurious cars. Hard for the dealers though because the demand keeps changing. But hey, get em now before gas goes up again and you know it will because oil will always go up in the long run.

Gas at costco yesterday was about $2.12 per reg unleaded even with the gas cap removed officially.

Performance and luxury cars are not selling either. The whole economy is down. Ilikai closed and is out of business. Circuit City will close all stores (34,000 jobs nationwide).

I don't see a big turnaround anytime soon. I know New City Nissan is selling many of their cars for $400 over invoice (not MSRP) and they have rebates for many models in addition.

If you have a job you should be happy. We will have to limp along for 2009.

That's pretty depressing, Brad.

Support your local shops and hobbyists or they might not be around in the future and give back to those who've given you. We all need to help support each other.

I went to Tony Honda today and counted 15 '09 Fits--9 Sport and 6 Base models. Only 1 of the 15 was a manual.

And there was 1 '07 or '08 SSM Base Fit pre-owned automatic w/:
- Red front/rear badges
- Zeta door moldings
- Some kind of matching molding on the wheel wells/fenders
- Mud guards
- Kinda dark tint
It looked pretty nice.

The manual transmissions are more rare and better performing.

The new 2009 Fit AT is supposed to be better mpg than the 2007-2008 Fit AT.

Prices are good right now. Not sure how long it might take to sell current inventory.

Sales are slow even with the lower prices because people are reluctant to spend when jobs are in jeopardy and tourism is in decline.

Meanwhile all auto sales are slow or down, even on the lower end. Maybe people are looking at used cars more now. I noticed craigslist prices for Honda Fit are also down.

Here's one 2007 Honda Fit Sport, 18k, factory warranty, manual, rims, DVD, clean actually there's couple. Are you going to test and tune this Sunday I can let you drive mines. It's definitely not as fast as the integra but, it corners pretty good.

I have driven the 2008 Fit Sport AT at test and tune using stock wheels and tires, stock sized wheels and Kumho V710s in 205/50-15 and Kosei K1TS wheels in 16x7 with Bridgestone Potenza RE-01Rs in 195/50-15.

The automatic transmission isn't good, manual is much better.

The stock wheels and tires are no good, too little traction and too soft a sidewall. Any All season tire would have trouble.

The Kumho V710s were good, handling was good even with stock suspension but overall times were not competitive with Toyota Corollas using RE-01R tires, about 1 second slower for the Fit. If manual transmission might be much better.

Re-01R tires very good on 15x7 rims and nearly as fast as the Kumho V710s.

Best combo would be-

Stock class- HS
Fit with manual transmission and Kumho V710 or Hoosier A6 in 205/50-15

Street Touring- STS
Fit with manual transmission and 15x7 rims with Extreme Performance Summer tires like Dunlop Z1 Star Spec or Bridgestone RE-01R.
Any suspension upgrades legal for the class are fine to add.
Cold air intake, cat back exhaust, etc.

Note 2008 and later models have TPMS on wheels.
