Took Car to Body Shop Today

Got rear ended by a 19 year old. Simply drove right into me at a stoplight...no brake squeal, no warning, just WHAM!!!! I don't know what he was doing (texting? talking on cp?) but he was obviously not paying attention to DRIVING, as we had been stopped for more than 2 minutes!!
Fortunately, the only visual damage is a scar on the bumper cover, and it is pushed out a little on each side; doesn't appear to be any structural damage, but we'll have to wait & see. For a rental car I had a choice between a Mercury Grand Marquis or a Dodge Calibre R/T. I choose the Dodge....I DESPISE it!!! I hit my head on the doorframe just about evertime I get into it, it is cramped inside, and it doesn't fit me anywhere as well as my Fit does (I'm 6'4"/205) The ONLY redeeming factor is that it has XM satellite radio!!! I want my Fit back!!!!!

When I had to take my car to the body shop, the gave me a Mazda 6. It was so bad, I returned it the next day and my wife and I shared a car for the next week. All I kept saying was "I miss the fit, I want it back!!!"

Ewww rentals... we had to get a Versa once. My knees were always jammed into the dash. I just don't feel comfortable in any other car anymore.

HOORAY!!! Got my car back today, on time as promised & w/ an excellent repair job to tune of $1450.00!!! In addition to replacing the rear bumper cover/impact bar/etc., the side skirts had to be removed as well, and everything was replaced w/ new clips/screws etc. Then got back home and found the medical settlement check from the insurance company in the mailbox!!

BTW: I only got to drive the Caliber one day, today before I returned it, I discovered that it had heated seats! and I was able to get them better adjusted...but it is STILL a crude piece compared to the Fit; coarse sounding engine, seemed to suck gas..and I STILL wouldn't buy one, in spite of the heated seats and XM radio!!

My fit's in the shop right now. Rental's a Nissan Sentra. Soooo sluggish. Feels like it weighs about a thousand pounds more than the fit.
